Devin Faraci at http://badassdigest.com/ is another very influential and contrary reviewer to watch.

I've been a member of a gaming forum at n-europe for years and they have a general chit chat section where people shoot the shit about everything really.

What will be interesting to you lot is how negative they all were about a Dredd movie and what a poor choice Karl Urban was for the role.

Then they saw the movie - nobody has had a bad word to say about it!

If your curious to see this go here http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27673

It just shows you how peoples views change when they start hearing good things about something.

Let hope all this positive buzz rubs off in America.
Choc chip goodness.

We've had the religious view now we're seeing the political angles of Dredd play-out:

FOXNEWS:

In a battle of Dredds, Urban would lay waste to Stallone.

Who are these`Super Reviewers`on Rotten Tomatoes??Here another strange `review `...

"It is your average movie in my opinion, you have your typical depressed Cop with a hidden past, a sidekick with something to prove, you have a perfect scenerio for a fight to breakout and a drug dealer not happy about being bothered by the police! It is visually stunning and i like the concept of the story howver i didn'tthink it was anything special.Nice to see Lena Headey again and she did well in her villianess role! Its action packed and brutal so thats a good reason to watch it!"

Dirty Sanchez

They're mostly 24/7 movie nerds who watch and review absolutely everything while understanding very little. Fascinating species if you don't get too close.

I'll try not to  ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if Romney adopts Dredd as his campaign mascot!  :)

Probably the most thoughtful review so far.

I think 'super reviewer' generally translates into 'super cunt'

Deadspin, Grierson & Leitch: Kill 'Em All
http://deadspin.com/5944593/kill-em-all-dredd-reviewed

Every few months we'll get a straight-up genre movie—Lockout, Safe, The Expendables 2—that wants to be celebrated for how unapologetically old-school, violent-for-violence's-sake it is. Too often, though, these movies feel the need to wink, to undercut themselves with self-deprecation, to let the audience know that the whole thing is really just for fun. Dredd, bless its dark heart, doesn't do that. It starts off in a horrible post-apocalyptic landscape, and it just gets bleaker and meaner from there.

Another happy customer.

Disappointed it only got the capsule review but Entertainment Weekly likes Dredd very much. Gave it a B+: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20483133_20620106,00.html
"...and it was here in this blighted place, he learned to live again."
