IDW Usagi yojimbo reprints BUT in colour !

so gorgeous, plus if you've read usagi, you know how you learn whilst reading too eg. how sake is made, japanese feudal law etc..

I've used these as my 'in' to Yojimbo and man its wonderful stuff - have a LOAD of digital stuff lined up.

My wife has been bitten by the Usagi bug, too. She's read the first 10 books in less than 3 weeks now.

Not the easiest stories to track down in the UK mind (we don't read digitally) but worth it!

My issues 81 and issue 82 arrived this morning. Sadly no replacement included for the misprint on Savage.

I just feel sorry for Dark Horse: Star Wars, Conan, Aliens, Predator... what next?

Still, at least I suppose this now GUARANTEES a Conan/ Predator face-off- which Dark Horse oddly never did but which Marvel surely wont be able to resist?

They lost Buffy and Angel too to Disney/Boom!

The current Scott Allie attention isn't going to help Hellboy/BPRD either.

Finished Season 2 of Buff the Vampire Slayer.

It certainly improves on it's foundation and is given the benefit of twice as many episodes to flesh things out.  It does take a while to really get going.  There are some good single episodes, but I'm unsure how stand out they are.  Xander's love spell episode is one I enjoy but does have a rapey subtext that is even lampshaded in the episode.  I Only Have Eyes For You is another I like, but really overlooks the aspect of sexual abuse of a minor.  Despite that, the biggest disappointment of that episode is I don't think it's clear enough that school is surrounded by a swarm of bees (what bees had to do with anything, I don't know.  Maybe it's a Candyman reference).  Spike is great, Angel sucks (geddit?).

Personally, I think the turning point of the show is when [spoiler]Angel loses his soul[/spoiler].  It changes the stakes and ups the personal drama.  Nevertheless, the bit I look forward to is when [spoiler]Xander and Cordellia get together[/spoiler].  It gives Cordellia more relevance to the show and actually provides some the more amusing dialogue.

Next up, Faith and the Mayor.

Definitely. It clicks into place as a proper drama (as opposed to something a little campy, throwaway fun) with the episode Passion, and that final scene. For me, anyway.

Excellent! Yet another reason to buy and enjoy.

Great to see the mag and the team still going strong despite all that's going on in the world.

Is this your first Dante-universe strip? Don't recall seeing one before.

I really enjoyed watching Angel season 3 weekly way back when (2002?).

Wesley's transformation that series definitely makes it  worth the watch.

I'd even strongly defend season 4 (which most fans agree is the show's weakest)

I'm rewatching both Buffy/Angel atm, with my Mrs seeing it for the first time. She wasn't keen on Buffy s1, thought s2 was just OK... and then Jenny... well, spoiler.

At that moment she said it became a proper adult drama, and now she loves it.

Angel s1 was watched back to back with Buffy s4, but I synced it up so the crossover episodes 'met' as best as possible.

We're about to start Buffy s5/Angel s2. She doesn't know Buffy returns for two more seasons after this... as I'm trying to trick her this is the end... and then surprise her that Buffy returns (literally) when Angel finds out the same news in his own series!

What do you tell them? Case Files 3 is a good starting place.

Strangely enough it was Case Files 3! We'd get folk returning for 4 and 5 pretty quickly.

At signings when asked about more recent series I'd say Zombo, Low Life,The Simping Detective and - if they fancied any of those - I'd suggest Trifecta "to read last"! Sadly we didn't often have much Nikolai Dante, or I'd have offered that too.

Which branch?  Do you get many Squaxx in there, or do we tend to subscribe or pick up from certain stationery/newsagent chains?

I don't know about customers - but this Squaxx still subscribes!

I'm based at head office. Formerly of the marketing department, where I ran in store signing events and digitalised their signing archive (available to view for free on FP's website!).

These days I'm the company's Licensing Manager, leading the creative on the t-shirts you see in store (sadly no 2000AD).

When I worked in store we got two types of 2000AD customer:

1) the die-hard regulars, in every Wedsnesday/for signings. A healthy amount of them, too.

2) young tourists (15-30 years old) who have heard about the comic and now they are in the UK want to try it out.  (They almost always asked where's the best place to start on Dredd)

Both interviews were really fascinating.  I definitely took a lot from Abigail Bulmer as she works at Forbidden Planet and works on her comics in her free time, this definitely was inspiring to me as an aspiring writer and creator!

Wrong comic book store! She works at Travelling Man - but regardless, great it inspires you.
