This is one of my most treasured items! does anyone out there who still owns this issue, still have the "space spinner" too?

I took mine off the cover the day I got it and after getting bored of throwing it around I placed it back on the cover, and it's remained bagged ever since.

Buddy

I've got one - with spinner.
Maybe we could start a club 'ISSUE ONE OWNERS (with spinner) MEMBERS CLUB'

esoteric ed

Lol, "Why Not" but please don't mention Issue 2 though, I had this and TWO sets of Biotronic stickers but... read on

I also used to read a comic called CHEEKY, and in one part of this comic he'd dig out a chest of old comics from the attic (an excuse to reprint older strips!) so I thought it'd be fun to bag a bundle of comics and "do a Cheeky" and one day salvage them from the loft, but I simply can't find them up there during brief visits over the years, and yep you guessed it, Issue 2 was in of the copies in the bundle.

Anyhow, glad I've got that off my chest.

I'll join the Issue Number One Club.

Consider yourself joined Mr ed!!

Membership No.000000002 (I'm 000000001, of course. Please quote mendership number when replying to any correspondence).

I'll do up a membership card - oh what fun!!!

Anyone else out there got Number One? I'm genuinely curious as to how many are in existance.

I've got one, so has ed. The count stands at two, any advance on that!!

Buddy

In fact, you can email a scan of your issue one to me at my website address:- mail2ximoc@yahoo.co.uk, with details and I'll compile a directory of who has them and where they are in the country. It'll make a fun little feature for the website (thats ximoc.co.uk - visit it today!!)

Thats because its the space spinner of the 2000AD site. My original spinner got stuck on my grans roof, but I managed to track a prog and spinner down a number of years ago.

The spinner in the free gifts section of this site comes from my collection.

Last of the V8's

Yep still got mine and still stuck on the cover.
Still got the Biotronic stickers from issue 2 and the Red Alert wallet from 3.

On an even Sadder note still have gifts from Battle Picture weekly, the plane from Action (was there a gift in issue two, can't remember but if there was I've got it ) the mask from Captain Britain and the boomerang.
What else.. the wallet from Tornado, all the gifts from Starlord, Fireballs survival guide from Bullet, and the Warlord gifts too...
and Warlord secret agent code book and identity card with badge in a lovely wallet.

Only gift I've not got is the poster from Planet of The Apes 1.PAH!!

Last of the V8's

Had a think..the gift with issue 2 of Acton was the iron on transfer wasnt it?

esoteric ed

Captain... what can I say... I have most everything you mentioned there, the Iron on transfer of Hook Jaw was indeed free in Issue 2 of Action, and war stickers free with Action.

I used to snap up just about every UK Issue 1 from the 70's and still have most of them!
Fireball's Survival guide is still lurking somewhere, I still have Tornado and the boomerang thingy bagged, but you hit the nail on the head with Planet of the Apes Issue 1, I originally chose Dracula Lives (which came out the same day!) instead and only tracked down Apes#1 last year MINUS the poster (still don't know what the poster was!?) I bought it for the cover and THAT great painting!

Logan, I'll guess you were unhappy about your spinner back then for mere minutes, but then as time kicked in... "If only I had a ladder"
love the Class of 79 site by the way.

Sorry, the war sticker were free with BATTLE.
