Finger guns or nothing!

Or we're back to Laura Dern going "PEW! PEW!" every time she fired her blaster in The Last Jediā€¦ :-)

I will never not share this BTS clip of Rie Ota performing a roar as Baragon in GMK 2001.
Special effects work can be pretty stressful so levity is always a joy to see.

So you're saying we should just destroy the entire planet with a giant space gun?

Yes, and be done with it.

Films are a collaborative effort, nobody should be expected to do everything.

Hence the shared responsibility.

Except this isn't how it works when someone is literally EDUCATED and PAID to be responsible.
I sincerely say this from the heart as someone who has spent a lot of time on film sets dude, you have no bloody idea how complicated they are and why your notion of shared responsibility just does not gel with them.

I think that's an over-simplification.

Except it really is that simple.

Its the armorers job to check the security and safety of any weapon props. Dude was SEEN goofing off with it, firing live rounds from a device that he knew was going to be used in a film he was working on.
That is, by any and all measures, a profound failing of his responsibilities.

Films are a collaborative effort, nobody should be expected to do everything.

Is it just me or is John Bishop appalling - not his character but his acting. It's sort of flat and utterly unconvincing, maybe he's capable of a good performance but they haven't got it from him yet, but just ugh...

THE FRENCH DISPATCH

Was entertained in the typical 'oh what larks' fashion of Andersons other films, but when the third segment transitioned into a Tintinesque animation evocative of a Bunuel illustration by way of Escher I was inwardly hooting and hollering. Unexpectedly joyful.

Oh absolutely, but theres little option. The lending agreement document I had to sign was uploaded no problem, just the proof of identity and wages PDFs where being daft buggers.
Lad I spoke to on the phone was nice enough so fingers crossed it will be painless....

Gotta love it when the bank mortgage team requires you to submit in a designated online portal and the document attachment widget doesn't work. Accepts the typical variation of files up to 5MB, so a 48KB PDF should be a doddle right? Wrong.

So i'mma have to drop in and hand them in in person and uuurrrggghhhh.

Ahha, oh man. I knew the Netflix live action remake of COWBOY BEBOP was going to be, at best, a well intentioned, lukewarm redo but I wasn't anticipating such levels of thudding mediocrity.

One universal truth remains that 'punch down' comedy comes from a positions of deep seated self loathing.
I should know, I was nearly radicalized in my teens as a way of avoiding coming to terms with my sexuality.
Edgy humor is one thing, god knows how often my friends and I call one another f*gs and d*kes for larks, but from a position of disdain for those already under constant attack from far right hate groups is just....crass, grotty and lazy. In complete poor taste.

I had wondered that, a shame but as they've been a pillar of the event since pretty much day one i'd be surprised if its a forever change.
Fingers crossed the toothy crew will return next year.

THE ETERNALS

Man I'm glad I saw this high with friends, glad we're finally getting an MCU movie I think Disney heads will hate even more than folks that don't like the MCU.

Justice for Jack Kirby.
