It looks like it could be alright. Depp looks creepy and, worse, not Gene Wilder from the original which was brilliant.

Yep i have to agree, it looks exactly how i hoped it would. The proof however is still going to be in the boatride, a real make or break scene for me.

it looks very ...like the first one? I was expecting something new- I mean completly new!
Some of those scenes are exactly the same.

Will this be as pointless as the Psycho remake?

I think it looks like it might be a stinker. But then, it doesn't look like an out and out stinker, more a film that hopes to fall down the right side of the genius/bobbins line. The bobbins side of the line is much bigger though...

Looks interesting but just from the trailer it looks like its a direct copy in many parts so of course people are going to slag it off.
His skin looks odd, my first thought was that at the end he pulls off his face to show he's an android and has been waiting for Charley all his life ever since his father (who was a time traveller) created him 80 years ago.

I'll go and watch it though.
