Anyone fancy organising an alternative chat night somewhere on the net? I don't know much about these things, but I'm guessing it must be possible. They always used to be on Wednsedays and before the board was pulled I wuz enjoying them.

I dipped in fairly regularly on a Wednesday, so Id be up for it. Guess if theres enough interest we could search for a chat mechanism

Tbh, I think that'll probably be the best way to go, especially as it'd be temporary. Setting up an IRC channel and then everyone wanting to join in having to download, install, setup appropriate software might be a pain in the arse if it's only going to be for a few weeks.
As I'm not a 14 year old Emo, I have no idea how to set up MSN stuff, though. ;)

When I click on it I get to a black screen with the 2000ad logo... but there's nothing going on, it's just black.
Is there some sort of download needed to work this?

No download needed but you may need java turned on or something. The server seems to be working okay at the moment, i.e. I was able to log in.

If you log into the BARNEY chat room (//http://www.2000ad.org/chat/) using the email address associated with your username here, then that username will be displayed in the chat room.
I've also added a ShedChat advert - In Orbit Every Wednesday from 10pm UK time. Let me know if I should change the time.
Since icons on this forum are generally bigger than those used on the old one, I haven't tried to link the chat room to the icon.
