Apart from the huge microphone (you could do something smaller even today, let alone the future. I'm sure an internal helmet mic, would be believable in a 'more realistic' setting. Or a glove mic like Anderson uses) I'd find that acceptable.

I'd prefer the helmet a bit more like the comics, but I think your take would certainly work.
