In our thrilling two hundred and sixty-fifth episode Fox and Conrad continue their journey through the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic with Progs 812-815 of 2000AD, covering December 1992. This episode Dredd deals with old rivals and Christmas fun, Dead Meat returns with a history lesson, Finn, Luke Kirby, Revere, and Robo-Hunter all take a leap, and it’s séance time for Brigand Doom!

This episode is pretty echo-y, for reasons that will become clear soon!

Inspector Raam's first name is Larry because of pop-cultural reference - Toytown / Larry the Lamb

Ohh have we still got time - in that case I'd be a fool to out Sheridan's hard work to waste.

Strangely this year is quite easy. I guess there's a bit of a gulf between the good stuff and the rest. There's still a solid middle ground in 1992, but we're also beginning to really see the gap in quality open up overall as there's a few stinkers if I'm being honest

Best Art

Its not Steve Yeowell's strongest year for me as he moves more and more towards other folks colouring his work and Colin MacNeil can wait for the Meggies... this one has to go to

Arthur RansonOf course for Button Man - its just next level stuff

Runner up mentinos for Jim Baikie - adore his stuff and Rian Hughes a really undervalued wonder in my mind.

Best Writing

Okay so if I wasn't going for John Wagner for Button Man I'd being going John Smith or Grant Morrison for such a magnificent ending to Zenith... but really I'd just be being belligerent if I didn't go with

John Wagner for Buttonman

Best Overall Thrill

Well give what I've said so far I'd be hard pressed to not say

Button Man for this one

Revere - Written in Water and Zenith - Phase 4 are very worthy runners-up.

Best Month.... Juuullllyyyyyyy mayyyyybe. Its the only month with both Button Man AND Zenith in it so i guess that carries it over the line...

Best Year - 1987 which it will remain until we party like its 1999

Meggies! - if its not too late:

Best Art Colin MacNeil his still this year is just top, top quality at a level I don't th9ink he topped until his recent out put.... well I say recent the work he's done since Insurrection is some of the best to ever grace the Prog or the Meg.

Runner up Shaky Kane. Might not have been the best thrill BUT damn he does some lovely art. Sean Phillips for Devlin Waugh

Best Writing

John Smith yep I love Swimming in Blood

John Wagner clearly deserves a runner up mention.

Best thrill

Its not close - Devlin Waugh - Swimming in Blood just a magnificent epic story, so dripping in atmosphere.

Best Month - August - If I'm honest it has the least bad strips backing up Swimming in Blood.
