General / Art of Brian Bolland Image books for sale
19 March, 2019, 01:33:40 PM
I don't know if this has been posted already but looks pretty cool:

QuoteBrian Bolland

Image Comics have informed me that the cost of warehousing this book exceeds the sales of the book. There are two choices: Either I or someone else could buy some or all of the inventory or they will be sent to be pulped. There are 3,095 copies in stock at $7.78 per book. I thought I might buy 100. I have no warehouse space here or the money to buy or store the whole lot. If anyone wants multiple copies now's your chance. You'd have to do it directly with Image. I could make myself available to sign them if you want. Chris Caira, Scott Dunbier, Joe Pruett, Nick Landau. (The link I previously added below for ordering copies was meant for me alone and at the request of Image I've deleted it.)

Website and Forum / Shop and Delivery charges
07 September, 2017, 08:06:28 AM
I just went to the shop to take advantage of the 50% reduction for Rogue.
I have not been there a while it is ok.
When I go to through the checkout process it asks for a billing address and then skips to credit card, without displaying total amount including shipping.

Is it just me or should it display the amount I am going to pay before I give up my card details?

The cart/trolley does not display any info about delivery nor can I find anything in the FAQ.
I ain't giving my card up without knowing the amount. Also no PayPal?

cheers

General / subscription issues
26 October, 2016, 10:48:58 AM
I just recently re-subscribed after a 5 year or so absence.
Seems the subs department has changed a bit.

No longer Denise which seems to be the problem.
At the moment I feel they are having a laugh, I don't know.

My sub starts from 1999 I did not receive 1999 or 2000 now I have received 2000 twice but still no 1999. After 5 or so messages to the subs department.
The only way to get a response is through the online form, direct response to emails don't get replied to.
All the other progs, 2001 - 2004 no worries but they are all stacking up waiting for 1999 :-(

I am in Belgium not that this should make any difference we have not yet Brexited. :-)

Sorry for the moan, just getting a bit frustrated, never had these problems previously.
Anyone else got sub issues?

Classifieds / Fleetway Quality Anderson, DC JD
29 March, 2015, 02:37:06 PM
Thought I would see if anyone is interested in these before I put them in a big pile of stuff I am selling.
These are from the 90's

1-15 Judge Andersone Fleetway Quality I think this is the complete run. It looks like re-prints but US format, quite nice repo B+w.

then a couple of oddities
DC Judge Dredd 1,3,4,5  colour. These look like original stories but I could be wrong.

And a single issue of Rogue and The law of JD (cursed earth poor repo)

Posting from Belgium not sure of the cost.

Quality is good, v.good to nm.

General / What happened to the Mayor?
06 December, 2012, 12:19:11 PM
Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere. But I was wondering, in the light of the Roger discussion what happened to the Mayor as I remember Roger fancying the role which eventually went to Thrylseeker if I recall who I have not seen around for a while.

Books & Comics / Brian Wood's Conan - clarity
20 February, 2012, 11:50:02 AM
Did anyone pick up the first issue of Brian Wood's Conan the Barbarian?
I picked it up being a fan of Wood's work and enjoyed it immensely I am not a big fan of Becky Cloonan but I prefer this work to some of her earlier stuff.

I do have a question though for anyone that has read it.  At the end of the book there are 4 pages with no dialog or text the story is just told in pictures.  Conan leaves the boat that he is on to swim over to another boat that is supposed to be sailed by Belit but it all goes a bit dream sequencey and I don't quite get what is going on.

Can someone explain what they think is going on in these pages?

thanks for reading

General / Getting 2thou in Belgium
24 May, 2011, 11:58:11 AM
Hello.  I live in Belgium.  My local comic store guy has trouble getting 2thou as a retailer, he says that he gets no reply to his messages.

Does anyone know the best contact for him o use, as a retailer in Belgium. Who to contact about purchasing 2thou?

The only other option is that he buys them from the U.S. from diamond but that is crazy.

General / Binders or Binding
12 June, 2009, 10:28:14 AM
I am looking to move some of my comic collection from plastic boxes onto the shelf and am thinking about either binding or using binders.

I picked up this link elsewhere on the forums for binders

//http://www.modernbookbinders.co.uk

and they do seem resonably priced but I dont know if the look is as good as if I had them bound correctly.  But then do you lose something when the comics go through the binding process?

Is there any experience with the bound process and anyone you recommend for this?

Thanks for reading.

Books & Comics / removing price tags
08 April, 2008, 02:35:16 PM
Hello all.  I have bought some comics off ebay recently (original print of Watchmen) and to my disappointment some of them have sticky price tags on, which seem to have been there for some years.  The kind of price tag you might find on your tin of beans in the supermarket.

Now the question is what is the best way to remove these without screwing up the covers?
Anyone tried this before?  Any hints or tips before I go ripping at them with my nails?

Thanks for reading.

Books & Comics / Complete Case Files
21 May, 2006, 08:38:01 PM
Hello.  I have been purchasing the Judge Dredd complete case file novels reliving my early days with the character and enjoying every minute of it.

My one question is how long do you think it will run, will they take it up to modern day, into colour and all, or is it going to stop at some point that is decided to be the definitive history?!!?!?

If so what would that be?

cheers
