"I'm planning to hit her with Halo Jones (not literally, I hasten to add), as I figure if there's one strip which could convert a girl, that'd be it."

Didn't work with my other half. She thought it was alright, but nothing special, and also thought the characters rather badly developed. She also tollerated Watchmen, but really enjoyed Top Ten and has since been badgering me regarding when I'll buy book II.

As far as general collecting goes, she doesn't care one way or another. As far as we're both concerned, comics are just a form of entertainment, often more intelligent than trashy soap operas and trash fiction.

Regarding movies, she enjoyed X-Men and Spider Man and thought Dare Devil was a bit pants--then again, the only one of those I thought was alright was Spider Man...

Biz was good up until Horned God part 2. Part 3's art was awful.

Thankfully, it's not like that here in Iceland. We've been getting a couple of inches of snow every night for the last week (which usually disappears by about 6pm). Mind you, almost everyone has snow tyres at the moment (chains or nails).

I'd rather have a few huge softback collections, but there you go. Six years to get them all is just bloody annoyying (like the slow release of certain series on DVD...)

I would have thought at most he might do a one-part Dredd, but I can't see him doing more than that for 2000 AD. More likely that he'll do a cover or two.

I have to say, if we get one more bloody story with the ABC Warriors being re-recruited, Mills should be fired.

Good job Wagner doesn't share this view. Maybe he's just scared: that Zarjaz story was the equal of most of Mills' recent stuff, and a whole lot better than most of Nemesis Book X.

Hmmm. If it isn't any good, then this should really be Ennis's last shot at Dredd. Helter Skelter was awful and totally pointless.

As for 'Sonny Steelgrave', while his Dredds were absolute crap, I'd love to see Luke Kirby back in 2000 AD. Without exception, all of his tales were entertaining, well written, and worth repeated reads. Of course, the chances of that happening are zero (sadly).

Tooth at the moment isn't bad. The thing is, it's rarely amazing, and never has been, but it's often entertaining. People often expect too much of it.

In my opinion, the only really good strip at the moment is the ever-dependable Dante, although Cabalistic Inc shows a lot of promise.

Dredd sits in the middle ground. Aliens never look that scary in-print (bar Geiger's original paintings) and the story is a bit lacklustre for me.

Sin/Dex is awful, and it really is time for Abnett to retire the strip. Slaine's pretty naff, too. The art is muddy, as is the script, which is Slaine 'paint by numbers'--nothing new or original from Mills.

Zeep--could be Northern Lights, which are extremely rare in the UK. They look other-wordly, although are quite a common occurance in the winter here in Iceland (and are very beautiful, too).
