From the Eric Carle Team: It is with heavy hearts that we share that Eric Carle, author & illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and many other beloved classics, passed away on 23rd at the age of 91.
Thank you for sharing your talent with generations of young readers.

Actual thing that happened:
Spotted my son studying physics, so I asked him:
"Do you want an occasional chair"
"What for?"
"...to go with that periodic table?"

Its a bit odd (and I concede this is also my feeling) that Clarke's description is so deeply uncomfortable to watch but the heart of it is Barrowman's antics that are really bang out of order.

Not of this, one and done.

(I do have more shorts in mind though... and who knows maybe I'll end up coming back to this ...)

This arrived for me last week, it's gorgeous - the £20 seems steep, but the book is oversized and it came with a sketch.

(also: every thread is gonna feature Dave's comments and it's going to continue to break my heart)

I'm breaking all the rules, but as this is non-voting...

I'm sure Dave wouldn't have minded (if anything I'm sure Dave would've been dead excited) but I coloured his Kid Knee from the last comp.

Utterly devastating.

Dave was one of the sweetest nicest people I knew in comics, and for me Dave defined the best of what comics can be, and he was the small press as far as I was concerned, he'd email occasionally asking if I was available for a cover and if I was I'd never turn him down. Why would you? he was lovely.

I can't imagine the loss his family feels.
