Creative Common / Can you help identify the artist?
20 June, 2015, 05:06:40 PM
I was given the attached sketch about 11 years ago but I can't remember the artist.

I'd like to clean up the pencil marks and then put this on a t-shirt but I don't really want to use it without permission.

Can anyone help ID the artist?

Check it out here :

Off Topic / Help Test My Uni Project!
19 March, 2007, 02:06:50 PM
Hi Dudes,

I need some help testing my 2nd year Uni project in Advanced Web Design.

I've built an online DVD catalogue that allows you to keep a record of all the DVDs in your collection, sort & search using your own categories and even (eventually) report a list with an approx value (useful for insurance).

I've moved the site into Beta test and you are all invited to come and use and abuse the site. But I do need your feedback which you can send through the contact area on the site.

I'd be really grateful if you could help on this! Please follow the link below.

Links / Rogue Trooper On Ctrl-Alt-Del
20 June, 2006, 03:13:56 PM
Check the link guys, I thought this amusing. I then thought, I wonder why the REAL Rogue didn't end up doing this? After all Bagman, Helm and Gunnar quite often descended into inane bickering....

Links / FQ Website - All Clear
21 May, 2006, 03:41:17 AM
Hi All,
The website has been cleansed. Seems someone managed to access an admin account (which has now had password changed and admin rights removed) and change the footer of the message board to download this file and also used the Bulk Email facility of the board to email all the members.

I've sorted things and sent an apology email to all Message Board members.

PLEASE NOTE: This was ONLY the message board, the rest of the site was unaffected.

REMEMBER : A good AV will protect you from naughty stuff and if you deliberately install software from an unverified source then you are a GREXNIX!

Hope that clear things up - please note that the FQ site is on a UNIX server and hosted by the same people as 2000adonline. Not sure how the password was guessed but beleive me the main site passwords are guarded with my life (ok Bolt-01's life)

Kindest Regards

Film & TV / Star Wreck - In the Pirkinning
10 October, 2005, 06:34:09 AM
Okay guys, some bunch of Finnish guys have just put Hollywood to shame. Check out this website : http://www-fi2.starwreck.com/

If you like the trailer and you have broadband then definitely download the movie and watch with a few friends and some beers. The plot is silly but coherent and takes the piss out of Bablylon 5 & Star Trek.

The battle scenes are AWESOME - if the CGI guys don't get picked up by a major studio then it's a crime. Remember it took them 7 years to make this and most of the film was shot against blue screen in a LOUNGE so the big set shots were all assembled in CGI.

Funny as Fukov......

Off Topic / Very Cheeky to ask here but.....
21 June, 2005, 01:01:44 AM
Sorry if this is shameless plug but I'm well know here and this is for a seriously good cause.

Next July (2006) it is my intention to join a 9 day trip to Trek across Iceland (80km in total) to raise funds for the Alzheimer?s Society. It would be fantastic if you would donate the equivalent of the cost of 1 or 2 progs at : http://www.justgiving.com/barnytrek

I'm intending to raise over ?80,000 (and I didn't think it too much) so I'll be doing allsorts of the next year to raise funds.

If you want to be kept in the loop drop me an email through the board with your email addy and I'll pop you on my mailing list.

If there are any very, very nice artists who would care to donate a piece of art that I can auction on ebay to raise funds then please contact me through the board.

Sorry to be cheeky and post this here but if you don't ask you don't get!

Kindest Regards

Off Topic / G-Mail Account Competition
04 October, 2004, 05:15:55 PM
All,
I've just received two invitations to create a GMAIL account when I only expected one. (I now have 'samslade@gmail.com)

So I'm putting the other one up for grabs. If you would like one then post the email address you would like (@gmail.com).

The winner will be picked next Monday @ 10am. I will put all the names in the 'hat' and the first one drawn that HAS NOT been created will get the account. I will mail the winner and they need to mail me back their real name.

So get creative! Oh and BTW judgedredd@gmail.com and 2000ad@gmail.com have already gone!

Best of luck!

Dante

General / Lawmaster Prototype?
14 September, 2004, 09:49:12 PM
Dodge have built a concept bike called the Tomahawk. It has a 8.3litre engine, 0-60 in 2 seconds and can travel up to 300-400mph.

Is this the prototype of a Lawmaster?

Time will tell

Well the boards are now back online as the hosting company have now upgraded the hardware in our server (we have 4 x the amount of memory now!).

So let's see how it copes with the incessant drivel... sorry.... intelligent banter, from the regulars!

We'll be keeping an eye on it!

General / Is George Lucas Up His Own Arse?
11 November, 2003, 07:00:17 AM
I was rooting around on the web and found this :

George Lucas has said that he wants to release the Star Wars DVDs in their story/episode order (as in Episode I, then Episode II, then Episode III, etc.), starting with Episode I on October 16, 2001.  Since Episode III is slated for theatrical release in 2005, and its DVD release is likely to follow in late 2005 or early 2006.  We figure it won't be until at least 2006 when Episodes IV through VI will be released, since George Lucas wants to personally work on these DVDs.

Now is it me or is GL just irritating the f**k out of everyone by refusing to release Episodes IV - VI on DVD? Why aren't they? The above reason sounds like "..well they're my films and I'll do as I please..." and "...personally work on these DVDs..." oh please as if the hand of Lucas is going to make any difference now....

I'd love to show my son Star Wars but my video copies are getting a bit ropey and I'm loathed to spoil the films...

Grrrrr.

Off Topic / Matrix vs Equilibrium
14 October, 2003, 08:08:23 AM
I just watched Equilibrium and personally I think the Gun Kata scenes wipe the floor with the fight scenes from the Matrix (and Reloaded).

IMHO, the Gun Kata fights look REAL, ie well choerographed but done by humans but the Matrix scenes DO look CGI'ed.

Comments anyone?

Hi all,

Viktor has just rung me and asked if I'd let you all know that he thinks (and so do I) that he has picked up a nasty computer virus that is wrecking havoc on his PC.

He's not sure when this happened but it has affected his email and he'd like to say, "Please treat all emails from myself with suspicion until you hear from me"

He usually emails from these addresses : tempusfugit27@yahoo.co.uk

This has been a Public Service Announcement from Dante Inc.

General / Is a liking of comics genetic?
15 June, 2003, 07:33:58 AM
I ask this question as my son Isaac, who is now 4, has discovered the X-Men, Hulk and the Fantasic Four on TV (without my help) and now watches and talks about them all the time. I'm letting his Thrill-Circuits aclimatise before unleashing the awesomeness of 2000AD on him.

Interesting question : What strip (out of the whole history of 2000AD) would you cut a 4-year old's Thrill-Circuits on?

Hi All,

In an effort to cut-down on the time it takes to sort out an outage on this site and to reduce the onset of ThrillSucker infestation, I have created (with Wake's assistance) an Emergency Message Board.

You can access this at : http://www.shergold.org:2000" target="_blank">http://www.shergold.org:2000

Please use this ONLY in an emergency as ALL posts are not just displayed on the page but are emailed to me and I also get an SMS sent to my phone.

If there is an outage or other serious problem please consult the board to see if :

  • The problem has already been posted

  •
  • I (or Wake) have posted a response.

You use the message board in exactly the same way as normal, using your username & password. Please note these are case-sensitive.

We have tested it! (thanks to Mecha-Bou & garywilkinson for sending some messages)

Any feedback on the usefulness would be helpful.
