Film & TV / Y the Last Man on Disney+

Just been to the UK premier of Disney+'s new show Y the Last Man based on  Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra 2002-08 Vertigo comic of the same name set in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious cataclysmic event simultaneously killed every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one man, Yorick Brown

The first 3 episodes will be released of 22nd September with the other episodes being released every  Wednesday.

Not much happens in the first episode as it is just setting up the world and the characters just before the men all die, but it is well acted feels like it is going to be a good series

Netflix have announced that they are working on a new series based on Matt Wagner's Grendel comics with Abubakr Ali (Power Book II: Ghost) as Grendel/Hunter Rose.

I'm not sure if this has been mentiond before but whilst in Gosh Comics! I noticed that they had a copy of Rick Random: Fleetway Picture Library Classics. Probably best remembered here as the page filler in the early annuals. Even though not released by Rebellion it still has the Treasury of British Comics logo on the back cover

Colin Brown and Paul Duncan are on the hunt for original John M Burns artwork to feature in a giant full colour book about the artist and they are looking for some of his best pages, rare strips, and previously unpublished work. If you have any of his artwork or know someone who might and would be happy for them to use it in this book they would like to hear from you

Just found on Facebook the Shrewsbury comics trail, from 24th June 2021 a series of 9 over-sized comic pages linked to create a story will be placed around landmarks in the Shrewsbury area. All the artists and writer have a connection to Shrewsbury with the story is written by John Wagner and art from the likes of Charlie Adlard, Mike Perkins, Manga artist Sonia Leong and Beano/Toxic artist Lew Stringer.

Down the Tubes have a story about British TV production company Three River Studios (The Great Martian War, Trackers) has optioned the rights to develop, finance and produce a live action, returnable TV series of the comic Luther Arkwright

This years 2000ADcomic is a Judge Dredd one under the 2000AD presents All Stars Banner (Is this a new range to lookout for?)

Books & Comics / comic deliveries from the US delayed next week

Just come up the Comic Biz Facebook page that due to the bad weather in the US at the moment, most of the comics that were due out on the 10th Feb are delayed for at least a week. There only seems about a dozen or so getting delivered to the UK for Wednesday including IDW's Judge Dredd
