So, that thing that's been on the side of buses has been released - two episodes in one go.  Think the first one's called Are we there yeti? or something like that.

Garry Leach

One of my favourite artists from that era and I always thought it was a shame there wasn't more in the Galaxy's Greatest (fortunately I also have copies of Warrior and A1).  Glad to have seen pages from Attack of the 50th Woman at an exhibition at Orbital a few years back.

Dread: Dredd - no sooner has the tabletop role-playing game licence with EN Publishing expired than a new RPG is announced, properly announced this weekend at the 2000AD online convention.

General / The 2000AD Messageboard Advent Calendar, 2021 edition

All a bit last minute, so there's still plenty of days to claim if you wish to contribute something - stake your claim for a date on the thread over here.  If you've already got a day then post your entry on this thread but don't post any comments about entries - they go on a dedicated thread!

I'll kick things off with my daily "GN Blurb Translated Too Many Times" available on last year's thread * though the actual thing for today is going to be from Trooper McFad.

Confusing this, isn't it?  So as this is very last minute there's plenty of days still to claim - almost the whole month is empty so far!

Stake your claim for a date on this thread.
View contributions to the advent calendar here.

Except I'm trying to create both threads at the same time so I may have to actually make them linkable in replies to this post!

I've not seen anything along these lines suggested for this year, but wouldn't there normally be an announcement about the advent calendar by now?  'Lovely' Pete Wells is a bit busy this year (announced why on Facebook but I can't remember if it was for public consumption or not, so I won't go in to specifics here, but it's good news for Pete) so I can see why there hasn't been anything so far.

With nine hours until December it's a bit short notice (as opposed to the week or two usuall) but here's a list of numbers for people to reply and fill in with their names.  For myself I'll do what I did last year and post daily translations of 2000AD blurbs (so I won't put my name down on any particular day).

How to put this?  I've thought for a while that it'd be nice to have threads on ongoing stories - like the prog and meg spoiler threads but focussing on stories that span multiple progs.  Plus, with sporadic consumption of progs (I'm one of those who supports their friendly local comic shop) due to lockdowns, changes in opening hours and generally getting batches of progs every month or so instead of every week like I used to up to March in 2020, this week is the first time I've actually gotten my hands on a prog on the day it was published!  Hopefully this shall be wildly popular and complement the existing prog threads.

Anyway, so this thread can be for the first story in jumping-on prog 2250.

Andy Lanning and Ant Williams (presumably Anthony Williams - when did they drop the 'hony') have created a new comic to encourage children to take an interest in science: The STEM Squad.

Looks like a lot of people need to talk, so how about we do so online?  I've virtually attended the Lawless convention and numerous Southern Contingent meetings over the past year, as well as a regular gaming channel (voice channel while we play boardgames online).

At this stage I'm thinking of just setting a date, time and location and seeing who - if anybody - turns up.

I'll lay out the options below and am thinking of possibly doing this later this week (I'm guessing weekends would probably be most convenient but this particular weekend is already going to be logistically challenging for me).

Just realised I've seen no mention of this on forum this year.

The Lawless convention is on - right now!  Being virtual this time around it's called Lawless: The Bunker.
