After Struggling with Hinckleton Nemesis for two months, I've now gone through Brink Volume One in a day.

Pretty entertaining. Artwork goes a little ropey at times, but clean storytelling.

Looking forward to Vol 2. May even give that audiobook a whirl.

Think I read DR & Quinch. And I feel i have read Firekind recently.

So Brink. As I know next to nothing about it.

Finally finished Nemesis.

Any recommendations for a palate cleaner? I've already done Dante, Ace Trucking, Robohunter and Strontium Dog

I'm stuck on Nemesis Book 3. Bloody John Hinckleton. Obviously a very visceral artist, but not a style that lends itself to telling comic strip stories, IMO. Not sure if the reproduction makes it even harder to work out wtf is going on. It's not that long ago I endured it on the Stront collection.

He doesn't appear to be in Book Four though. mind you Langley qualifies for a lot of the same criticism just IN COLOUR!

I've only read about 30% of the collection so far but I am struggling with Nemesis so much. I remember really enjoying it when I was younger and now I pick up Book 3 and see that John Hinckleton is a main artist. Ugh.

Books 19 - 28 - Nemesis/ABC Warriors and then 80 odd books of Slaine. I'm going to struggle there.

In fairness to Uncle Pat, a lot of Torquemada's vitriol is playing more realistic in the 2020s than I found it back in the late 80s. Some phrases could have easily been said by Trump. And some by Boris.

I do like the idea of guests on the show. Not that you two aren't gold, but might be good to freshen it up  bit for series 2.

Just recently dug out some old progs that happened to contain Purgatory and Inferno.

It does NOT benefit from reading all at once. It's a load of repetitive crap. Serialised weekly, I could see how there was some high octane thrills. But not many. It's basically one gruesome death after another that somehow they managed to make boring.

Purgatory is slightly better though. Inferno just slips off the brain. I read it a month ago and already can only remember the judge getting pulled apart. For no understandable reason. 

These guys used to be judges yes? And smart? Rather than insane killers.

I've just finished the entire run of Nikolai Dante for the first time. Gosh I think they got the ending just right.

How satisfying.



Going back a couple of weeks, I'm not having Nikolai with a glasweigan accent. My dad's from Glasgow and NO WAY is Nikolai sounding like my dad. No way. I'm not having it.

Will listen to this over the weekend. Always like a Dante drop.

Question: With Penguin adapting some Tooth properties for audio dramas, what about Dante?

And who would play him? What does Nikolai sound like in your head?

Only recently read it but can barely remember it.  Unless its the one about Jocasta and Nikolai's dad being siblings? Ugh
