So one issue per customer and a bumper one... take it these will be our golden tickets.

After buying it all this time I was a bit pissed off that without warning it endsand is sold out and I had to get it from a scalper and then wait a week while everyone gleefully posts spoilers. Thanks a fucking bunch Kirkman.

I quite enjoyed the comic but still a shite way to handle a final issue.

Yeah, I agree that this sudden end feels like an unnecessary rug pull. "This comic that you've been reading and invested in for over a decade? It's over. Gotcha!"

Dear god, I loved Chaos Engine. The steam punk graphics and theme music were fantastic.

A younger Michael Caine would've been great.

I'm also someone who'll mainly follow writers although over the years there's been artists who I'll pick anything they've done, such as Frank Quitely, Mike Mignola and Martin Emond (the first Megazine that I picked up had his and Garth Ennis' Chopper short - his art blew my tiny ****ing  mind!).

Mr Miracle 12 - Nuff said.

Read that issue this morning. It says it all of the incredibly high quality work that even though I've got a disgracefully large backpile of comics to get through all I want to do is pick up MM #1 and read it again.

Venom

Surprisingly tedious. Film takes far too long to get Eddie and the symbiote hooking up. Villain is dire.

The new Marvel Zombies one-shot was better than I was expecting.

The Worst Idea of All Time

Two friends agree to watch a shitty film once a week for a year and podcast after each viewing. First film they pick is Grown Ups 2. It gets funnier and funnier as it goes along because each viewing gets more torturous and they sometimes have to get drunk just to get through the 37th viewing or whatever of the celluloid abomination.

General / Re: Goodbye Carlos

This one hit hard. I got into the adult side of comics via The Complete Judge Dredd, the Megazine and 2000AD. Carlos' art stood out from the beginning. As great as Bolland, McMahon, MacNeil, Dillon etc were they, well, they just weren't Carlos. That he was able to stand atop such a wealth of talent proves how special Carlos was. Co-creator of Britan's biggest comic book icon and a genuinely nice guy to boot. One of this industry's true legends.

Finished the new Spidey game. Swinging and combat mechanics are great. Really good story too. Just a shame the creators felt the need to fill the map with weak challenges that you have to do to get some of the best gadgets and costumes.

It's fun enough that it's worth picking up the trade if you see it going cheap but too Ennis-on-autopilot to be worth a big chunk of change.

At one Thought Bubble I was at one of the guests got so ridiculously blackout drunk at the pre-Con friday night drinks that he got alcohol poisoning and had to get someone to man his table while he lay in his hotel bed sweating and spewing.

That was a cautionary tale to, well, not stop drinking (let's not get crazy now!) but at the very least eat a big meal with lots of bread before boozing.
