Ian Edginton did not write Thislebone it was TC Eglington

You are correct - and there is an error on Barney (and insufficient coffee in my system):

Quote from: Barney
IAN EDGINTON

CREATOR CREDITS
American Gothic, Ampney Crucis Investigates, Detonator X, Interceptor, Kingmaker, Leviathan, The Red Seas, Stickleback, Stone Island, Thistlebone, Scarlet Traces

Quote from: Barney
THISTLEBONE
Created by Ian Edginton, Simon Davis
FIRST APPEARANCE IN 2000AD
Thistlebone

Thistlebone 10 episodes (Progs 2135 to 2144) 56 pages
Script: T. C. Eglington, Artist: Simon Davis, Letters: Annie Parkhouse
First episode double length.

Is there a good way to report such things to those with admin rights?

This has been a really tough one as both men are superb world builders able to craft great characters and thrilling narratives. It's really come down to the slimmest of margins. Much as I love Edginton's work I've got to give my vote to Abnett. Lawless and Brink are the two stories that made a subscription to Tharg's mighty organs a must-buy for me. If we'd had another series or two of Thistlebone this could have gone the other way though it really is very close.

Ooooh and I note that Bronk Warriors is on YouTube - excellent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb5DPV-iC6k

Might have to give it a few days to let my other half recover from last nights "classic".

Father's Day is great - the Astron 6 guys are great, it's a shame they stopped making films.

Any other lovers of low budget b-movie fodder on here?

Just discovered this gem is on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y921giNTtuo Persuaded a bunch of friends to watch it this evening for a virtual movie night - I'm not convinced everyone got it, lol.

A serial killer goes on a quest to save his kidnapped bride from the evil Baron Nefarious and his Zombitron. Unnecessary nudity, excessive jam and zero sanity.

These are so tempting. Gonna have to sit down and work out how much overlap there is with stuff I've already got as quite a bit of this got reprinted in the Hachette Collections. I feel another spreadsheet coming on.

Yeah it's got 4 volumes planned for the UC extension. Really looking forwards to those ones as I've loved all the Edginton strips we've had so far. Might even persuade my partner to read those as she likes a good pirate yarn.

Has to be Abnett for me. It was discovering Kingdom and Lawless via the Hachette Collections that led to me to buying the Prog and the Meg as I just had to get the latest parts.

Just adding my voice to the gratitiude for maintaining Barney - it's an amazing resource thanks for your hard work guys.

I'm surprised Ennis made it this and there's no way his writing for Tharg can compete with the likes of Ampney Crucis, Sticklback, Thistlebone, and Scarlet Traces. If Ennis's later work (Preacher, The Boys) was included this might be a fair fight but... it isn't so Edginton.

It's got to be Mills. Much as I love Bad Company it just can't compete against Nemesis, and the early runs of ABC Warriors and Slaine.

I'm hoping the order of these doesn't matter, as it was difficult enough cutting out loads of series I love and want to see back in the prog soon (please, Tharg).

Ordering does matter.  As I understand it (also not a car race fan) your choices will be assigned a score based on the ordering:

  • 25
  • 18
  • 15
  • 12
  • 10
  • 8
  • 6
  • 4
  • 2
  • 1

It's also been stated that:

you can vote as many times as you want  but only the last vote is the one that counts.

So you've still got time to agonise further over the final ordering, I know I am.

My copy just arrived today.  Only read the first couple of stories so far but absolutely loving it.  This is the intro the strip didn't get in the Ulimate Collection. Really glad to have grabbed a copy to round that out.
