Sagepay payment error in online shop

I'm trying to buy the digital Meg in the 2000AD online store but have twice been halted by the following when Sagepay is processing my credit card:

"There has been an error processing your credit card
3D-Authentication failed. This vendor's rules require a successful 3D-Authentication.
Please try again and if problems persist, please try another payment method"

I've Googled this an the results are all useless and vague. How do I get my card "3D-Authenticated"? Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any suggestions?

I know there are probably financial reasons for not having a PayPal option on the 2000AD shop but godalmighty it would make purchases so much less frustrating and smooth. Just sayin'

Sorry to hear about the difficulties. This may be due to us tightening up our security because of some attempted fraud on the store, and we now require that all card payments are made with a card registered with a "3D secure" scheme, such as Verified by Visa,  Mastercard Securecode, American Express SafeKey etc. Click one of these links to find out more and how to register:

https://verified.visa.com/aam/activation/landingPage.aam
http://www.mastercard.us/securecode-sign-up.html
https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/content/membership-benefits-cardmember/american-express-safekey.html

If you register a payment card with one of the above schemes, your payment should be accepted.

We're looking into Paypal at the moment but, obviously after this recent period, preventing fraud is foremost in the web droids' minds.

Cheers

Thanks Michael, yes it was just a matter of registering the card with Verified by Visa although the SagePay error page doesn't actually mention that. Sorted out now.
Cheers.
