Barrington Boots

I must admit I had to refresh my memory on some of these!

2 points: The Sad Case - This story is absolute genius, from Kid Knee's sex doll head to 'Slippery' Doc Dickory. Carlos art. Really love this one.

1 Point - Top Dogs - Can't not rate this for the beautiful art even though the Dredd tie in doesn't really make sense

1 point: The Beast of Milton Keynes - Like Jimbo says this is a lovely story with Johnny at his badass-with-a-heart-of-gold best. Some nice mutie designs from Carlos again!

1 point: Complaint - Very lightweight but, enjoyable setup and Carlos on art once again, hurray!

You're a dark horse, Boots.

Well as it's the only one I can remember, I'd better go for

Top Dog

Maybe I should read the instructions! Sorry, I thought it was just state your favourite. I do struggle to remember the specials, and may not have actually read most of them, so I'll give Top Dog 5 points as I do actually quite like it, especially all the time travel shenanigans.

Funt Solo

Ya know what I'm going to let myself off here. Had a quick look and the list here is correct. The error was I linked to an (obviously) incorrect image. So that should be...

Strontium Dog: Annual 1982 - more info

Can't find a better linkie BUT as I recall this is the one printed in blue (was it???) ink with a little gremlin type fella - its been a while.

Looking at my Starlord list, based on Funt Solo's list - which I'm treating as my definitive source I think I got it covered... watch me make another mistake now!

Trooper McFad

Had to reread a couple just to make sure but here's my favourites from that list rated.

Incident at the Back o' Beyond - 1

Complaint - 1

Top Dog - 2

Assault on Trigol 3 - 1
Citizens are Perps who haven't been caught ... yet!

Hmmm still think Funfair of Fear from Starlord annual 1980 is missing and I'm voting for it.

I might have missed it off some list I posted here BUT fear not (no pun intended) its on the tourney list (see link to spreadsheet and I've checked my masterlist (which I use to copy and paste entries to the individual posts when I prep them) and its on there too. So it'll be there.

Top Dogs - 4 points
The Beast of Milton Keynes - 1 point

Top Dogs was a great multi-part story done in the 1991 JD Annual, a full 29 pages. The art was awesome from Colin MacNeil and I wish he would return to that style (not that what he doing today is anything wrong with - I just loved his painted work). Almost gave it the scope of a full series.
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Mike Carroll

Good stuff so far, but in the interests of self-interest, I'd like to humbly remind you lovely people of the existence of "Wulf Sternhammer: Valhalla" from the 2019 2000AD SciFi Special. Script by me, art by Patrick Goddard, letters by Simon Bowland.

Okay, okay I got this, I got this.

The story was titled Wulf Sternhammer not Strontium Dog - so under the same basis we don't have Middenface or Durham Red stories it doesn't qualify.

That said I do regret not having a core spin-off region... but that might have got messy...

... or in other words, bog off Carroll you should be too busy writing more Proteus Vex and other stuff to be looking in on nonsense like this...

... what was that too rude... what ...come on...

1: Top Dog
1: Beast of Milton Keynes
1: incident at the end of the world
1: Town that died of shame
1: Sad Case

57 billion: Valhalla, to make Mike happier and because his little Dredd figure was cool

Leigh S

1982 Annual - Steve Kytes art isnt bad, but too clean for Stront and you can tell the story isnt Wagner/Grant - 0

Incident at the Back o' Beyond - 1 :  Great little introductory story - let down a bit by some stodgy Robin Smith art, but a good primer for Stront - perfect for an annual

The Beast of Milton Keynes - 1 ; Even better for an annual! Possibly the last Classic Stront story I read, as I got the annuals later when I started collecting as opposed to just reading the prog

Fever - OK - Kim Raymond's art is fine, but not a great fit . 0 points

Complaint - Carlos goodness - fun story - mutants get one over on the norms... 1

Incident at the End of the World - Keith Page art does nothing for me and the weird idea that the mutants have a statue of the person who genocides them is.... curious 0

Top Dog - It deserves a point sure, but it's getting more than enough alreay, so 0!

Assault on Trigol 3 - writing and art are pretty off - 0

The Town that Died of Shame - 1 point for this one - Colin proves he is the natural successor for Carlos and is promptly sidelined - boo!

Incident at the Birth of the Universe - 1 for this - Johnny Alpha is GOD!

The Sad Case (Prog 2001) - great stuff, but as I dont really treat the End of Years as Specials and I have no points left..... 0 points!
