Great news (!) - I've finally been able to complete my covers gallery for 'The Wastefu(e)l' family of promotional comics from British Gas. Art is by Jeremy Simmonds.

Fortnight

I have #s 4, 5 & 6 of that Wastefuel Comic! I looked over ebay every now and then for #s 1, 2 & 3, but never saw one pop up (wasn't looking very hard to be fair!). So thanks for this post. Nice to see those ones I didn't find!

Beyond the normal advertised-on-the-cover type freebies (such as the StarCom & Ring Raiders ones I see on your blog, those Action Force mini-comics, assorted preview comics, etc) I have a small number of other advert comics:

Thundercats comic "Number Two" (I see you already have the first one from 14 October 1986 on your blog, can't see this second one)

A one-page "Sammy the Secret Lemonade Drinker", for R. Whites Lemonade (looking a bit worse for wear)

Two (different) "The Striper" comics, ads for Rowntree's Stripers (apparently some sort of confectionery)

Almost fitting the bill - a curious Disney/Woolworths competition where a captionless three-panel Mickey Mouse strip needs to be captioned to win a prize.

ah, all very interesting! It's hard to know what advertising comics I haven't covered (yet!) so thanks for the heads up.

The recent 'Kapow - the art of making comics & film' exhibition in Rugby had a whole WALL of original Jock art from 'One dark knight'. It was amazing. Here's just some of what you missed.
