some program on tv lastweek said that even if kyoto was implemented tomorrow it would only delay global warming by 6 years, yup,its too late, game over man

Dudley

So, let's review:

Climate change: no real result.
Trade: no real result
Aid: teensy drop in the ocean (and look out for the difference between aid pledged and aid sent, as with Afghanistan)
Privatisation agenda: reaffirmed

Total achievement: fuck all (square root of).

You say that like you're actually surprised...

cancel debts, request they stop fighting, you know, i kind of think we should cancel debts and then ignore em, talk with those south american countries that actually try and sort themselves out, all those bbc programs on africa made me realise that the problem in africa is CERTAIN countries, not all of africa, and frankly, thats africas problem, not ours

Dudley

I genuinely am surprised, and incredibly disappointed.  I'd assumed that Blair wouldn't be such a knobhead as to build up everyone's expectations uncontrollably without having fixed at least *something* with his old buddy George beforehand.

Our relationship with the USA really is that of the lamppost with the dog, isn't it?

Oddboy

But this bit's good - G8 nations agreed to full debt cancellation for 18 countries.

Better set your phaser to stun.

Better keep this poncy white wristband on for a little while longer then.

why o why do properly elected representatives of their country think they can ignore ageing pop stars ?http://www.nrk.no/img/416947.jpeg">

Debt relief's not exactly a philanthropic gesture.

Now's a good time to invest in multinational private suppliers of water, electricity, and other utility solutions...

"Campaigners complain that donor countries are using the debt relief package to force privatisation and a liberal economic agenda. "

nooooooooooooo, really, tut tut, we should force em to have state run monopolies and dictatorships as well, or perhaps some commie style central planning system that worked SO SO well before eh eh, durr,

Dudley

Well, maybe they could be allowed to have a nationalised health system, rather than a private one on the American model?

Or keep their core utilities protected by state ownership until the market matures and all appropriate safety measures are in place, to prevent foreign monopolies running their systems for profit?  You know, like the UK did?

judge dreddd

ahh, we write off the debt, if they buy stuff from our companies,oh yea... a slight of hand by g8 tee hee, nobody will EVER realise

live8, suckers !
