Wasted Issue 8 has arrived with it's usual outrageous humour. [£4.75 iclu p&p]

Great Cover by Gibson Quarter though sadly it is for the last time as this is the final Print run version of the Comic though I believe it will return in Digital Form at some point in the future. Most of the story's are one or two pagers though there are longer tales of the pleasures and pains of drug taking.

Stand out strip is 'Vampire Vixens of the Wehrmarcht' lovingly painted by Alex Ronald . Gibson Quarters 'War on Drugs' is another great strip that you think would find a home in 2000A.D though perhaps there isn't room enough in one Comic for TWO Fascist Lawmen.

Not too everyones taste but the artwork and labour that went into this small press comic I hoped would find a bigger audience. Perhaps with the Digital version it just might and deservedly so.

Books & Comics / BAN THIS WASTED FILTH!
30 September, 2010, 08:31:48 PM
My copy of 'Wasted' a 'humorous' comic magazine came today ejaculating filth all over my narrow minded view of the world.

Disgust followed outrage and outrage was followed by apoplexy so while I immediatly write to my MP, the Editor of the Daily Mail and his holiness Lord Beezelebub [All Hail to the Great One!] all I can say is:

BAN THIS FILTH!

Press the link for moral outrage. Only £4.25 [including p&p] for total degradation.

News / SCI FI now's Editorial on new Dredd film.
02 July, 2010, 09:23:17 PM
Maybe someone's already covered this and I only read through the article briefly in the newsagents this morning.

SCI FI Now magazines Editor gave a pretty positive view of the new proposed Judge Dredd3d film but defended the old Stallone effort since >ahem< his Uncle had worked on the flick!

Nepotism, great work if you can get it.

What can you say?

If you can say it.

Games / HaloplusHalo3.
17 January, 2010, 09:33:38 PM
Well I got my gaming 'rig' up and working. My Xbox is now attatched to my old Dell 9150 17 inch monitor plus I invested in a 60GB hardrive so I can play HALO3 without the disk drive churning away. Looks great. I put the resolution on 1200X720 and it seems to look good if a bit squashed on the screen.

I loaded up Halo-Combat Evolved on My vista Mesh PC and it works too and looks much better as I can crank the spec filters to the max. Ah my only regret is not being able to play FarCry on my Mesh but what the hell I'm in Halo heaven at the moment.

There selling X-Box Arcade Console for £109 from Amazon. Is this worth it? A lot of reviews  seem pretty negative about reliability issues the 'three rings of death.'
Can this Arcade version play Halo3 or the more recent ODST?

I'll probably be an occasional gamer with no interest in using it as a HD-DVD player but will this device conk out on me a few months from now?

General / Forum rules-
08 September, 2009, 11:20:38 AM
Well I read the new Forum Rules. I never read the old ones of course a foolish oversight but they seem pretty straight forward.

Anyone got anything to say about them after the malarky that took place on the forum's recently? Or should we let sleeping dogs lay?

Games / Soldier sim.
13 August, 2009, 10:18:52 PM
Before it died on me my old computer was graced with the deadly 'ARMAII' a soldier Sim game which has the fun part of Army life (ie the fighting, blowing things up bit) without the foot sloggin, waking up at six o'clock on a freezing cold morning being shouted at bit which is much less invigorating.

Very good graphics but a little buggy in places still it's the first game I've bought in yonks and horribly realistic (one shot and your hamburger)it is too. It strained my Nvidia Ge-Force 8600 GT Graphics card some so the biggest card your machine can handle if you wanna go blastin' Blackwater style.

I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere on the forums but I'm much to lazy to bother and go look for it.

Games / Rebellion joins the rebels!
03 January, 2009, 04:31:52 PM
I read on videogamer.com that 'Rebellion, the oxford based games developer' is taking over 'StarWars Battlefront 3' from some poor joes who just lost their jobs at E.A games or subsidury  company. They claimed it was more than just a rumour.

Just thnk of it- Dredd v's StarWars! Total geekdom, if it could come true but it might effect Rebellion planning other game titles from it's 200O A.D portfolio.  Boo! Rebel scum!

Suggestions / SAVE DREDD !

Here's my quick contribution to save Dredd from becoming Eddie the Eagle's stunt double. Not to great I admit but as first attempts go not to bad. Hope it loads up.

Books & Comics / Manga Dredd.
03 October, 2008, 08:49:10 PM
I admire the artwork of a Manga artist called Kia Asamiya his Silent Mobius series is a great graphic narrative if a bit bonkers in places. Has 'Judge Dredd' ever been produced in Japan as a Manga comic or were the original strips sent ?

The buildings and architiecture depicted by  Asamiya are clearly influenced by the film 'Bladerunner' but do remind me of a slightly cleaner MegaCity 1. Would a Manga Dredd appeal to the next Gen of comic book readers more than the current strips?

Your views and thoughts please.

Suggestions / 'FUTURESAURUS!'
30 September, 2008, 10:33:29 AM
'Futuresaurus!' Crap title I know but instead of bringing back 'Flesh' why not combine JG Ballards The drowned world and genetic mutations man !

Runaway greenhouse effects hots up the planet and some birds, reptiles mutate into fanged, dinosaur like horrors! Civilization collapses AND then -oh I don't know but the usual messy, gore filled misanthropic adventure tales take place involving macho, laconic, mercanary types assisted by scantily clad women with big-guns.

I say it's the greatest thing since Shakespear. 'To be a brontosaurus-or not to be !'

Yes, our culture is doomed isn't it ! :D

Suggestions / Scary Robot question
29 September, 2008, 11:00:34 AM
BIG SCARY QUESTION: SHOULD WALTER THE ROBOT EVER BE LET BACK INTO THE PAGES OF 2000A.D ? !

It's frightening. That's why it's in capitol letters. Should -you- know- who return this time as a murderous, sociopathic killing machine (hopefully). It's time to face your fears and say what needs to be said out loud.

NEVER !

Film & TV / S**T Movies
27 September, 2008, 06:51:52 PM
The worst film experience EVER-'Insemonoid' some witless attempt at ripping off Alien. Saw it on TV .

Which films have left you convinced the movie industry deserves to be 'atom tanned ?'

Suggestions / DREDD V'S CTHULU !
31 August, 2008, 11:14:54 AM
Did DREDD or JUDGE ANDERSON ever encounter the Cthulu mythos by bonkers author H.P Lovecraft ?
I watched monster movie 'Cloverfield' and came up with this idea since the sooner the monster ate the annoying brats in 'Cloverfield' the better.

The HELLBOY series of comics and films seems to be influenced to some degree by Lovecraftian horror and I've seen a pretty awful looking film entitled 'CTHULU' advertised on YOUTUBE so will we see more horror type stories in 2000A.D ?

Tell us, oh mighty THARG and bring meaning to our lives ! :D

Other Reviews / Future Shock -Rogue elements.
16 August, 2008, 06:49:45 PM
Liked the 'Future Shock-Rogue Elements' in 2000A.D PROG1597 scripted by Alec Worley, drawn by Nick Dyer . Good story particularly the setting a sort of future Noir meets 'Sam Spade' and the art reminded me of Brenden McCarthy's. The twist was inevitably 'beware evil technology puny humans ' but it's very difficult to surprise people these days what with twenty four hour TV and the internet. Good though.  :)

Suggestions / MECHANISMO V MEAN MACHINE ANGEL
04 August, 2008, 09:10:59 PM
Did the Robot law enforcer Mechanismo ever face down Mega City 1's finest cyborg psychopath the Mean Machine Angel?

Now that would surely be a contest worth having. Two maniacs for the price of one.

Books & Comics / SPOOKS-OMEGA TEAM fun !
02 August, 2008, 04:17:13 PM
Check out 'SPOOKS-Omega Team' about a black ops team of mercenaries who fight incursions into our world from Cthulian horrors. Good, clean gory fun with good artwork and story.  Written by Larry Hama, art by Adam Archer ( 'I smell vigilante-and we don't like vigilantes ' J.D well with a name like that he's gotta be one !). Not sure who inked it but it's by Devils Due publishing.

Wonder when old granite, Judge Dredd  face will face Cthulu  ? I think there's an upcoming movie soon but there's a story idea for you writers to be getting along with ?

or not.....!
