For the Mex-Jdge, I did intend to use the sombrero from the old Luna-1 saga, but it looked cheap alongside the ornate uniform - as if a costume designer's budget had run out before she got to the helmet.

Agreed. Sounds like an interesting set-up for a nice little culture-shock story for Dredd. I wonder if it's worth passing on to John Wagner as an unusual little project for himself and, obviously, Uncle Carlos.

I would have been interested in writing and drawing such a story, possibly only from the Spanish Judges' POV (something like a 2-3 parter in the Megazine). Same goes for all sorts of stories featuring Judges from other parts of the globe. However, I'm stymied by the thought of having to first submit a batch of Future Shock stories first, which don't interest me in the slightest. I'm not a big sci-fi/fantasy fan beyond Judge Dredd. I'm more interested by the infinite expressions of humanity in Dredd than the robots, mutants, nuclear wars and aliens.

It might come to pass that I end up being able to work on Dreddworld stuff only by being published elsewhere to show I'm capable of the workload. I'm self-publishing a graphic novel next year, the start of a series, which might get me some interesting work.
