Matthew Stogdon

My name is Matthew Stogdon, I'm a filmmaker with Cheesemint Productions and I've been contacted by Hadron Colliderscope to write a weekly comic, which will be published at http://www.hadroncolliderscope.com/. I've scripted a sprawling space epic that's more original than most, taking visual cues from European Renaissance styles.

I have a pitch PDF which gives a rough outline here: http://blog.theredrighthand.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/SchismPitch.pdf

I must stress, this would be a collaboration and will be done entirely without pay - but that would be the case for both of us and I'm hoping to find someone with my level of dedication and enthusiasm. As far as visual style goes, I'm open to interpretation. I've crafted a story but how it's told visually and how the characters/species/locations/ships are crafted is largely down to you (with a few initial prompts from me).

If you think you'd be interested, please email me at matt@cheesemint.com with a few examples of your work.

Thanks for your time and if you have any questions, just ask.

Renaissance art immediately generates a Moebius vibe in my brain -and I'm totally crap at his style. Also it sounds a lot of detailed artwork for no money though some online exposure is always good. You can see the bind therefore.

You might find more mileage at a place called Deviantart. http://www.deviantart.com/  Very International in it's community so if you find no joy here or other UK Comic sites then DA is the place to go. You can joy for free though you then have to endure the internets greatest curse -advertising.

Your story sounds very different to the usual 'anti heroes takes on corrupt regime -happy ending.' Hero's who end up being perceived as terrorist as hated as the regime their fighting against that's a sounds intriguing so do tell us how things go since we like to hear what other creators are up to.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to have a modicum of encouragement. I think money will always be a thorn in my side but it's nice to know someone like the concept.

I'll definitely try DeviantArt and I'll be trawling Thought Bubble in Leeds (in two weeks), so hopefully something will come up.

Thanks again.
