News / Re: Dredd vs Death novel

Oddboy said "Pete - it's not published until September!"

But Marco Blokey said "The book has started shipping out to stores in the UK and US, prior to its release at the start of September."

Bugger! I took that to mean the book was being released early. Got meself all excited too...

The start is ACE! Well done Mr Rennie!

I'm off on my holidays on Friday so if I can grab a copy before then I'll be a very, very happy bloke! I can read it on the plane then pretend to read it on the beach whilst perving at the ladies. Yay!

General / Pre-ordering Dredd vs Death

Are people pre-ordering the game, if so where from?

I've done a search on Kelkoo.co.uk and the lowest price it came up with was ?22.99 from Games Planet which seems wonderfully cheap! Can anyone beat this?

The Staples cover is wonderful (as usual) and I thought the Death story was going great guns until the ruddy quad bike and all i could think of was Sc*j*. Grrrrrr!

Yup, I have to agree with Oddboy. This IS a silly competition.

Otherwise this prog, Dredd was marvellous, it's great to see him actually care about somebody and feel guilt at his negletion of Vienna, wonderful dialogue throughout.

Slane - nice art, not particularly bothered about the story. Pat Mills is the king of 'Tell don't Show' in my book.

Stront - Excellent. Very funny script and Carlos is as good as ever.

Other stuff - Poster was amazing but shouldn't have been stapled into the prog :( , the cover was pants (I love Flint's stuff normally) and nice to have letters page back.

In short - Wagner on top form this prog.

Well, I think Si sounds like a pretty ace guy from reading his comments on alt.2000ad and the wonderful 'argue with scojo' group but his tooth stuff to date has left me cold. Beck and Kawl seems very much like a poor man's Spaced to me and the other strip he did (was it called Scrap?) reminded me too much of Halo Jones. The guy is at the start of his career though and I'm interested to see what the future will bring...
