The Amstor Computer

"It is the 'Hand of Glory' that Ravne uses, not the the Hand of Power"

Is it? I've just scanned back through my notes & I seem to have it down as a "hand of power", along with an explanation of what that item might be. I'll dig out my progs tonight and doublecheck.

"Sir Alex Nestor's 'female vampire assistant' is actually his daughter"

Never picked that one up. Is it mentioned in the episode he appears in?

More stuff to add to the notes!

Byron Virgo

I think when he referrs to it as a Hand of Power, it is a descriptive term, as opposed to the actual technical name. Either way, it is a Hand of Glory, which we can trace back to a variety of neo-Christian 'pagan' religions.

I'm pretty sure that the vampire lady was his daughter - I'm sure there was a reference in some episode somewhere to his living with hisdaughter or something, but maybe I'm just mentally joining the non-existant dots.

I've done the dot-joining a bit myself:  Ravne said he was an SS Obergrupenfuhrer, but never if that was as a part of Sonderkommando Thule.  I've assumed it was.

It's also not clear if he killed Gustav and Gretchen, but there was more than one body on the floor when he came back out of his magic tank:  one was Slater, and I haven't seen Gustav or Gretchen since.

My notes also don't cater for Billy the zombie having now returned to England with Ravne from Amsterdam.  I think he's in the attic.

The second body could of belonged to Billy as if I remember right Ravne said to Billy he was going to let him die soon.Which I feel inplyed that he wasn't needed after Ravne got what ever was in that crate.

Could Ravne be souless because hes some kind of homunculus?

The Amstor Computer

Going by memory again, but wasn't it Billy in the crate from Amsterdam?

O think it's pretty much implicit that he was part of the Thule, even if it hasn't been explicitly stated.

I have to admit to never really understanding all that Ravne-reanimation stuff. What happened exactly? Why did he kill anyone at all, how did he come back to life and what happened to the two birds? And why kill off Slater - he was clearly the best character in the book?

The Amstor Computer

"what happened to the two birds"

Wasn't Gustav a chap?

Lord Running Clam

It may have. Its just I seem to have it in my head that the crates contents was that cryo-bed type thing that Ravne healed? himself in.

Byron Virgo

"Wasn't Gustav a chap?"

Was he?!? Good god, my eyesight must be apalling!

The Amstor Computer

Heh! I'll have another look tonight, but ISTR - based on the art & some throwaway lines - that Gustav was a he.

Byron Virgo

Good lord, what's going on over there?

Max Kon

Gustav isn't a ladies name to my knowlage

Byron Virgo

Not even in that gay pub of yours, Max?

The Amstor Computer

Had a play around with this while I was sorting out my notes. Just a quick mockup, but fun nonetheless:
