Big Nose George Parrott met his death when a lynch mob caught up with this Wild West outlaw. By the way, they made him into a pair of shoes & medical bag :o

Chip Taylor, composer of Wild Thing, is Angelina Jolie's uncle.

In Stocksbridge theres a pub called the Cock Inn...  :-\

There's one in Liverpool that was called the Cockwell Inn.
It was changed to The Cockwell after a few whinging locals complained to the council. Some people...  ::)

I wonder if Mary Lykes ever lived there?
As in that perrennial favourite of fourteen year old boys wishing to bother the post office:
Mary Lykes,
The Cockwell Inn,
Tillit,
Herts.

Until very recently there was a pub down here called the Fawcett Inn. For years some mates and I wanted to open one across the road and call it The Ram At Home. Sadly they didn't have their own brand of cider... :D

I saw one called 'The Cock' on the way to Buxton the weekend just gone! Surely there is enough of them not to warrant a schoolboy snigger?!

That's surprisingly fast given that we didn't find America until 1492. <awaits historical thumping>

The naked mole rat is not naked, a mole, or a rat.

Naked mole rats are incapable of feeling pain, as they lack a neurotransmitter chemical called "Substance P".
