When is enough too much? When your Dredd becomes a bearded big nose.

Such a terrific profile, I'm a huge fan of clean, bold line work. You've also a great ability to make it look 3D where so often head shots like this look flat. Great colours too, you monster!

There have been a flurry of Dredd Heads posted to Facebook recently, originally spurred on by Steven Austin, I believe. Here's another from me.

Should his speed be in MPH? Or not?

That's an amazing piece of work.  I think they use 'kays' in MC1 (I remember Chopper saying it to Jug); so KPH it is.

Awesome lines, Simon! Here's some Saturday morning sketchiness from me. A Dredd head and some other gubbins.

Nice work Simon - heres a commission piece I recently completed - it's not a Dredd head 'as such' BUT certainly contains one....and part of his spine too. :)

As I've already said....INCREDIBLE work, Steven! :)

Thanks amines2058! That's high praise :) Mick Austin is a personal favourite of mine but I didn't make the connection between my style and his at all

What program are you using on the iPad if you don't mind me asking mightybren? That's a great piece

I've tried a few of them and found generally they range from being fiddly and overkill (ProCreate) to strange and fiddly (ArtRage). At the moment I'm primarily using Tayasui Sketches II which is simple and easy to use, and has some very nice art tools. The brush tool for inking is the best I've found so far. The water colour tools are awesome and simple, and behave like real water colours :)
Also it lets you group your art into sketchbooks, which I find really useful.
