Tales from the Loop - Amazon Prime.

Came across this eight part series on Amazon Prime this morning. I think it's an anthology series, maybe with an overarching narrative, based on the wonderfully unsettling, retro Sci-fi paintings of Simon Stålenhag. Like his work, it features kids, snowy, arable landscapes and a cool mix of late 70's tech and cool looking robots. I'm halfway through the first episode and it seems like a slow moving, artfully directed affair with some quite big names attached.

The settings, and some of the shots, capture the atmosphere of Stålenhag's paintings pretty damn faithfully. I'm more than prepared to give this a chance during the lockdown!

The books are gorgeous — HIGHLY recommended if you don't already own them. I hope the TV show works well and does them justice.
