That diagram is a feast for the eyes.   I'd forgotten Savage was originally drawn by Charlie Adlard - shame he's disappeared from the prog; hope he's done well for himself since.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

Get well soon, Sharky.

I missed this one, but would have gone Zenith too - Not a bit of what (afair) Funt calls 'bloat'; everything is there to power the story onwards. The mix of everyday pop culture and dizzyingly huge multiverse-spanning events was just perfect.

Anderson is an incredible character and one that shaped the identity of the prog, but as has been mentioned, there are just too many duds.  I'm also not a fan of massive MC1-continuity-shattering stories being thrown out there and then instantly forgotten about - A whole generation of Mega-City children disappearing into the Cursed Earth, for example; and Christianity being outlawed completely.

I’m one of the few that isn’t a fan of Dante.

Survival Geeks

It took a very long time for me to come round; some time into Tsar Wars I think.  Before that I thought the dialogue was stilted, the main character was seriously dislikeable, and the setting wasn't interesting.

I ended up not just loving the story, but actually liking Dante himself as he matured into a far more interesting character.  I miss the sly old fecker.

Our wonderful dog, Sam the miniature schnauzer, aged 16¼.

Aw, man, sorry to hear it. A ripe old age for a doggie, and I would imagine he had a happier life than most of us human types could dream of,  but still, never easy.

I can't help thinking that the 'greatest witch-hunt in US history' was the Salem witch trials.

One of my high points of the 2000AD 40th was meeting Jesus.

Quote of the day.  Happy birthday, JR!

Luke Kirby.  For the first story, of course, but the Old Straight Track was great too.

I was in the Dublin branch recently and struggled to find the actual comics.  Sad but necessary for their survival, I suppose; you can't download figurines and plushies from torrent sites.  Yet.

The FBI raided Trump's home in Florida to execute a search warrant and opened his safe.

I have a nasty feeling that, short of a prison conviction prior to the 2024 election, this is going to be a massive boost for him, sadly.  He'll play the martyr card successfully as he's always done.

Sorry, Insurrection.  It was good and all but there's nothing like Nemesis.

Transvision Vamp never sang a song about Shakara, so I'm hanging out with Halo Jones.

Oddly, my mate (also a squaxx btw) used to hang out with Wendy James.  She used to drink and play pool in the very small and unimportant midlands Irish town I come from; though she went there primarily to ride horses. To my eternal regret I was a tiny bit too young for the pub and missed the chance to ogle meet her.

I voted Sláine, but I'm almost relieved as it's been off the boil to one extent or another since the end of The Horned God.

The Dog deserves to do well - me, I've always been far more a fan of the gritty, close-to-home Britain-set stuff rather than the crazy space adventures, but it's a credit to the creators that it manages to swing wildly between each without breaking a sweat.

I even thought the Final Solution was brilliant and loved both Simon Harrison and Colin McNeil's art on it, and kind of wish they'd rebooted the series or something instead of resurrecting him, but that's for another thread.

You can imagine Ice Cream Goat becoming huge in Japan, much like the Geek Pie hairstyle.
