Whow 'Major Eazy' very cool. If a bit of a surprise. 'Johnny Red', 'Rat Pack' and 'Darkie's Mob' have beened listed for ages and getting pushed back and back - then this one sneeks out of left field. Not complaining mind looking forward to this one a lot.

Quite a hike, but still cheaper than some Yank comic that only has one story in it.

And 6 extra pages of story too

General / Unconfirmed price rise to £2.25?

Over at Bleeding Cool under an article about the new logo someone posted in the comments section that 2000ad might be getting another price rise. I wasn't convinced given that the price has just gone up in the new year so I asked where he'd heard about the price rise. He replied with the following

QuoteI get my comics mail order and the shop I use has the following listed:

http://86thfloor.com/Advance%20Order...ogue/18_UK.htm

2000 AD #1705-1708
Irreverent, satirical, and full of pulse-pounding action, 2000 AD is the UK's cult SF anthology title, featuring some of the best writers and artists in the business. Russian revolutionary Nikolai Dante faces down an old enemy in "The Master of Kronstadt" by Robbie Morrison and John Burns; a new criminal organisation is ruling the streets of the Big Meg in "Low Life: Hostile Takeover" by Rob Williams and D'Israeli; the Tower of London is besieged by undead hordes in "Defoe: A Murder of Angels" by Pat Mills and Leigh Gallagher; and Rowan is running for her life in a werewolf-haunted city in "Age of the Wolf" by Alec Worley and Jon Davis-Hunt. Plus future lawman Judge Dredd leads a crackdown on perps in Mega-City One! (977026228416605/06/07/08)
SC £2.25 Ea.
And the same price is on their online order form. They have always sold 2000AD at cover price (minus customer discount) and can't see them adding any extra themselves now.

So while this is yet to be confirmed certainly according to this shop a rise is on the way. Still great value for money as far as I'm concerned but thought it worht mentioning here now its backed up a little.

I'll put this heer rather than start a thread that might course a fuss over nothing. In the comments for said article so bloke says

QuoteAnd another price rise is on the horizon too, to £2.25. Yet

Anybody heard any mumblings about this? Seems way to soon after the raise to £2 so I'm taking this with a massive pinch of salt but just wondering if people had heard otherwise?

Now we all got to wonder what a shift with Tharg actually involves?

That is fantastic and well deserved.

Hector Hammond. Kinda looks like a human Mekon. A super brainy mentally powers type. Bad moustache  and the bad mood with it. You know the type.

I remember and vaguely getting loads of stuff like 'Whizzer and Chips', 'Buster' etc but I think the first comics we collected and consiously kept were issues of 'Battle'. I say we as I'm pretty certain it was my older brother who started this not me. 'Star Wars' weekly and 2000ad weren't too far behind this. All went the way of the parent monster.

Asterix books are in the mix somewhere and I hope these I can one day add to the first comic for your Sprog thread one day.

I think the earliest comic I have owned since my youth and still have is relatively recent, Prog 431. I have my original copy and a second copy I can read as this old beast is falling apart as its been read so often.

Errrr wow!

The trouble is I'm only getting half the images cos of some silly work filter. Still it'll be fun to see um at home later.

Like the new logo always think of the 'two-tone' logo as my logo.

Interesting line-up too.

Good job sir

HA!

You know what really sad. I'm watching his kick ass trailer with like dragons and WWII planes and samurai and sexy lasses in a movie that looks frankly very very exciting and what am I really thinking...

'Uhhh I wonder if that lass would be a good Anderson'

I think I'm getting a bit monofocused in my fandom!

Prog / Re: Prog 1695 : The Hunger.

Not forgetting that Johnny and Wolf had tried to find the quiet life before, until that all went wrong.

If he is still kicking about and that's still a big if, I hope he's ended up like Morgan Freeman at the beginning of 'Forgiven' settled down on a farm avoiding all stuff his life was before. That leaves the potential for him to come back but it would have to be something big and exciting... or small and important for him to do so.

There's some stuff in the recent 'flashback' stories that might set up a return to action? We'll see.

For what its worth I absolutely loved 'Final Solution' when it happened. It was so exciting and after Wolf's death geniunely you didn't know how it would turn out. I also adored Simon Harrison's art it was dramatic and different. After a re-read a while back it still holds up as a great story and I think a great end to John's story. The supernatural stuff drawing very well on stories that had gone before. I might not like Simon's work quite so much these days as the story telling lacks a little but its still really good, fresh and vital.

Out of interest how spoilery is that script review? I know the final product could be different anyhow but I'm starting to think it might be time for me to avoid as many spoilers as possible (aside from cast photos etc)... I'm not very good at doing that but might try with this now I trust its got a good foundation.
