VOTING CLOSED

Anderson couldn't repeat the rare feat of joining the 20 votes club for the second time (she is one of the exclusive bunch who did it in Round 2), very possibly cos this one was a massive mis-match and folks didn't feel any complusion to vote> Droid Life did get votes but of course

Anderson - Psi Division

will be knowing how you will vote in Round 4.

VOTING CLOSED

Impressive result this for Robo-hunter, it wasn't close. And for all its low points and issues its wiped the floor with Dan Dare, the first Prog 1 story to fall. DD is a thrill blessed with good art if not the best scripts. Robo-hunter just fell short of joining the 20 vote clubs, but given the strenght of the opposition, the apparent problems with Slade's strip this is a possible sign of a good contenter?

Robo-hunter

left DD smoking behind him as he used his boots to stride into Round 3 (what, huh, that's poor!)

With a day to go there is little doubt here, to be honest there wasn't ever any really was there. A day to pile on and I'll count up and announce in the morning.

To mis-use the name of one of our favourite boarders, it doesn't seem like Dan will be Daring to get into Round 4. Ro-Hunters lows seem to be easy for many to ignore, or are DD's just too many? Either way there's a day to wrap this up and I'll announce the result in the morning.

Well a very significant week in the tournament as we enter Round 3 after the seemingly unending Round two. We’re down to the last 128 thrills and from here the quality will step up,  but the choices start to get harder. But the lovely thing about this round is there is still plenty of room for mis-matches…

Final tie of the week is a gift for these intros. Brigand Doom came out of David D’Antiquis lush, deep Shadows to see off Disaster 1990 and then proved Kelly’s Eye wasn’t immortal in Round 2. Shadows bring un doom to Bonjo and under-rated sports classic Second City Blues…

…look I said a gift not one you’d want!

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.

Match ends early on the morning of Sunday 15th May and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).

What on Earth is ALL of this?

For those that need ‘um and can be bothered to follow ‘um there’s some simple rules

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN

These two are low on page count (so far in one case), but high on quality. Megatropolis has seen off From Grace in Round 2. Tribal Memories took down Witchworld in that round after blanking Snapshot in Round 1.

VOTING CLOSED

I'm a bit tendered this morning after a night out with work, a little tired and hungover. So I'd appreciate if you imagined this wrap up was done in the style of a preacher testifying. If you could make it sharp and witty I'd appreciate it. Maybe add a slightly sinister edge to the whole things. Then proclaim Ant War's GFD's best work for 2000ad.

Thanks

Ant Wars

has learnt to fly into Round 4.

Don't get me wrong I really like Hope, but I LOVE Leatherjack. Its prime John Smith and John Smith is Prime 2000ad. So I was a little surprised how onesided this became. Don't get me wrong (reprise) Leatherkack got a lot of love, both in a number of votes, but the some of the votes for Hope, but it just wasn't close and

Hope

will be filming a new match in Round 4 (wow amazed I remembered to type Round 4, not 3!)

There's a spread sheet if anyone fancies!

Oh great find Eamonn. For some reason I don't own this I really should!

No. I refuse. I just can’t do it. I’m sitting on this fence until there’s an imprint across my butt cheeks.

Think I might make a rule that says if you wish to abstain you have to say this!

and also

WHAT!

Brother and sister I stand here before you to celebrate. I say CELEBRATE the work of our lord Tharg and its clear, I say CLEAR that only one thrill here will continue to spread the good word of the LORD. You have one day. ONE DAY. To show your love, YOUR LOVE. For Tharg by putting your hands together and... well voting actually. ONE DAY brothers and sister.

Testify!

Well the first tie of Round 3 draws to a close and enters its final day. I have to be honest I thought this one would be closer, but no it seems to be going one way and one way only. Last day to join in though and I'll announce in the morning.

Mechanised Monster Derby this one with Armoured Gideon who has banished Stone Island and the Balls Brothers, mashing metal might against Metalzoic who has crushed the fleshy victims Harry Kipling and Judge Hershey to make it to Round 3. One of these rumbustious robots will take a rollicking, but which?

For a while I thought the two ties today might be the best I would get with kinda derby clashes… for a while… here we have two denizen’s of Mega City One’s underbelly coming head to head. Lenny Zero, who's seen off The Scrap and Pussyfoot 5 so far, lacks the class of the Man with the Mouth; the bloke who broke Satanus and Lilly Mackenzie, the one and only Pinstriped freak Max Normal.
