I have a vague memory that the series was initially announced as a four volume collection of the Don Lawrence strips rather the complete strip. Obviously that's not going to be the case - judging by the contents list for volume 4 it's going to take one further book before we're up to the end of Lawrence's run and then Tharg knows how many books to reach 1982.

Well it is difficult to review prog when 3 out of 5 stories is literally wordless (speech bubbles has been shot to bits by Dredd). I believe this is a digital only problem it is on the App and the downloadable progs as well from the webstore.

Tbf, it made 'Skip Tracer' a bit easier to get through.

I had heard of it but it seems a bit of an obscure choice given that we haven't seen Robot Archie or Kelly's Eye or Spellbinder books yet.

For a panicked moment, I thought Skip Tracer was going to be the double-length strip.

The bigger thing for me is how the lettering (thanks for Jim highlighting the importance of lettering) has change from the original prog/megs. tom Frame did most of letting and it has been completely altered from his original lettering. This is on the digital release not sure if it is true on the printed release.

That's... yikes. I mean, that's basically vandalism.

Was there a pressing need to reletter the entire book? And if so, why not do it more sympathetically?

I wonder if - as with Luke Kirby - they didn't want to risk giving Morrison (and McKenzie) a potential new avenue for legal action by licensing a UK edition to another publisher?

There is something very off about Lowborn High's weirdly blatant plagiarism, especially at a time when we could do without reminding that anti-trans bigot JK Rowling still exists.

Again, I hate to be that guy, but calling Rowling a bigot is defamatory and untrue. She holds views in favour of women's rights to which some militant trans rights activists object. She has expressed these views - which are protected speech under the law and are consistent with both UK equality legislation and the broad character of public opinion - reasonably and compassionately, and for that has been targeted for threats and abuse both online and IRL.

Rowling's child fans have also been targeted for online abuse - including being exposed to sexual threats and paedophile imagery - by these same so-called activists. I find it extraordinarily depressing that so many - including you - are willing to side with such obviously evil thugs who have gone to such appalling lengths to smear, intimidate and silence women they disagree with.

So I am very happy to be reminded that she exists and refuses to be intimidated or silenced by the likes of you. The only bigotry here is yours.

Do young children read bi-monthlies? Does anyone know why they don't want weeklies?

Is it maybe that the most viable and visible comics available to kids these days are US reprints following the traditional American monthly publication model? The once ubiquitous British weekly anthology hasn't really existed for a generation and weekly kids publications tend to be aimed at very young readers or are bought for the free gifts rather than the content.

On an unrelated note, this is the second time that both the current Brink and Hope storylines are going to be pre-empted by Regened and I'm having flashbacks to my youth when you'd have to wait three weeks between episodes of The X Files or Twin Peaks because BBC2 had taken them off to make way for snooker.

So, I've finished this and it's great. The stories stand up surprisingly well and the art is beautiful and beautifully reproduced.

My one very minor complaint is that they reprint a lot of Look-In feature articles as an appendix but not the text story from the 1984 Winter Special, but I can't say that I'm losing sleep over that!

That's great. I wasn't sure it would be worth double-dipping on the Rebellion hardcover if this one didn't go right up to date.

Can anyone confirm what Brass Sun Vol 2 includes yet?

In prog 2283 it was stated the next installment will be Malice in Plunderland and it will return in prog 2289

You get the sense that the Prog is going to enter into one of those staggering chase to the line as Prog 2300 looms and the start of the years' wonderful line-ups start to fizzle away. This week is a pretty good comic but we'll have to see what rolls in alongside Skipperty.

The next Regened is supposed to be Prog 2288 so I suspect it'll be more Future Shocks/Terror Tales for the next couple of weeks.
