That would work for me.  The first series especially, which was very different from anything that had come before it.  I'm not always a big fan of John Ridgeway's stuff, but it's hard to imagine an artist more suited to that particular strip. 
Mind you, if it was on the telly, it would probably be accused of ripping off Harry fecking Potter or something.  Personally speaking, it reminded me more of that very old Box of Delights series, in a weird kind of way.
