petemaskreplica

next year all other comics will be swept aside by the might of Cosmic Ray!

Trout

Well, Pete, I hope someone sweeps Dan Abnett aside.

(Damn, and I managed to keep quiet on that subject all morning...)

Who draws the line in the new talent section?  How long do you have to be around before you are no longer 'new' talent?  I remember Andy Clarke doing Nikolai Dante in 1998!  And this must be Frazer's 3rd year at least in this section.

Frazer, what is your secret of eteranl youth?

Tu-plang

Oh, and well done to 2000AD, Diggle and Dredd!

DavidXBrunt

And wasn't Bruce Jones writing horror comics back in the 70's?

GermanAndy

"And wasn't Bruce Jones writing horror comics back in the 70's?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course he was :-) He wrote stuff for Eerie, Creepy and Vampirella, then Twisted Tales for Pacific, I think, Somerset Holmes and other stuff. He should be in the Comeback Section *g

Abnett is best writer now? Huh? Or is this rather the category of most prolific writer now? His output is astounding, but surely in a solid, dependable way, not in the I-can?t-wait-to-read-his-next way.

DavidXBrunt

I suspect it's readers of 'Legion of Superheroes' that voted for him, rather than 2k readers.

I suspect the category of 'New talent' could be fairly renames 'Talent that has just become known to a wide section of readers within the last 12 months' but regardless of number of votes shouldn't the people doing the tally reject people like Bruce Jones and Frazer Irving (talented as the both be) on the grounds that they aren't new talent?

Natsan

There was a big cheer(at least from our corner) when Devilchild appeared on the shortlist for Best Self-Published/Indy Comic.
Many thanks to any 2000AD boarders who voted for me/Devilchild!

Natalie

Demon Chicken

Right, if 2konline is second, that means lots of people voted for it.  That means lots of poeple lookat it.  That means where are all these people, and are they really all that scared of us?

Devons Daddy

well done all.
WAKE.great to see you receive the recognition you deserve. next year NUMBER 1.
overall  great to see 2K and its creators so well represented.excellent.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Oddboy

Demon Chicken - or it could be the other way around....

2K online is 2nd, that means we all voted for it.
That means there were very few voters in total (200-300?)

Better set your phaser to stun.

Matt

What I love about the results (apart from the well deserved  2K awards) is how the Dandy has pissed on every other comic bar 2000AD. Imagine, you're a big fish in the states, writing for some incredibly huge publishing house on one of their prestige superhero titles, you take your work very seriously and want to make your mark on the character. You've got thousands, if not millions of fans worldwide, people queue for hours at convetions for your autograph and you get beaten by a cow-pie eating cowboy! C'mon Dandy!
