I heard about the helium shortage before but chocolate and sardines? Sheeeeit.....

I heard about the helium thing a few years back and thought "nah - that can't be right surely?"

Indeed it can. A year ago I heard proposals to make it a regulated substance so that the supply could be freed up for important things like MRI machines.

I think the chocolate thing is a little misleading. As it basically indicates that chocolate as is currently produced and priced will be a thing of the past, once working conditions have improved. Which I guess is actually to be hoped for, but I am sure the vast available market will keep things ticking over somehow. Hell it could even be solved by simply creating some tiny semblance of parity between those who produce and those who market, package and sell at industrial levels.

Sardines though. Well, that could be ****ed. I don't really like em but still.
