suspicious - I've never seen a movie review that requires you to click onto an new page every paragraph - I suspect that they specialise in pointlessly provocative reviews to generate click-taffic. I clicked through 4 pages of that bullshit before giving up.

This seems to me, definately a trend, and one that I'm encountering more and more often, the reason?-exactly as you describe.

You thought we had bad reviews:

the truth is that it's utter trash from quite literally the first frame to the last.

That aint a review: that's an attention-grabbing bitch.

MR. ELIMINATOR

I think we knew these bad reviews would come. But it's pretty cool, it didn't feel real before as it was almost too positive.

From the review:
Bear in mind this film features a drug called Slo-Mo which give the director a reason to - you guessed it - slow the film down to about two frames per second in an attempt to look 'cool' over and over again. It's really amateur stuff and executed as badly as I've seen at the cinema.

Um, this guy doesn't even understand how moving pictures work. Two frames per second? You're fucking stupid.

Keef Monkey

I guess we can take comfort in the fact that review aggregate sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic only acknowledge reviews by people they've deemed credible reviewers, so all this amateur journal Internet flaming of the film won't affect it's standing on those sites.

is anyone going to tell them that a strip that started 2 years before Thatcher came to power cannot have been a reaction to her government?

'Dredd 3D' Better Than 'The Dark Knight Rises'?

Agreed.

Hmmm everybody should go 'like' this video as it seems TDKR fanboys are voting it down for daring to suggest anything could be better than their precious.

Mark Taylor

In fact I felt compelled to comment:

What is most disturbing about the extreme reactions of certain people to anyone who dares to suggest that TDKR is less than perfect is that they seem to think the human race should be an army of clones, all united in lockstep in their praise of the Mighty Dark Knight. A film is art. Art is subjective. I'm happy for those that truly love TDKR, as they have gotten what they wanted and that's good. However, if you need the validation of everybody else loving it just as much, something is wrong.

Michaelvk

I thought TDKR was pretty good.. But it had loads of cash thrown at it, as well as batman sells regardless.. Value for money I reckon Dredd wins hands down..

Early days, but it looks like Resident evil: rehash retribution won't be a big worry: http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/r/12_residentevil5.htm

Yeah but I don't think you're likely to hurl insults at anybody who disagrees.

There's something very appealing about the way that show is presented, can't quite figure out what it is  ;)

As for the negative blog ones, don't read them, they're small opinions that dont deserve the revenue you're giving them by clicking on them. As someone said, the "whatculture" thing is just generating money by spreading it out, while tricking people into thinking it's worth reading cos it looks like the Guardian site (or something like that).
