Mine's gone unfortunately but... normally it's cover variant 2 of 2 that seems the difficult version to find (in my experience anyway)... any idea why version 1 of 1849 seems difficult to find this time around?

Funnily enough my local Smiths only had cover 2 of 2.

Yep, we had this with the last variant covers.  I think they are good for Rebellion as they seem to sell more copies but unfortunately they mean that ceratin areas/shops all get the same one and there is no option on the website to specify. 

I got mine from an FP in the midlands and they were all #1s.  I believe if you phone Rebellion then they can sort you out with the one you want.

Someone offered me too much for mine (not that much mind!) and I told them not to be silly and halved the offer... they seemed very pleased... maybe they got outbid on that one on eBay!

Every variant since ive been buying again has been 2 of 2, round our way. Not seen hide nor hair of any 1's.
And yes, they do seem to fetch a pretty penny, over on e-Bay, dont they.

I had a bugger of a job finding this.  Don't know where you are, but I eventually found that Forbidden Planet in London had plenty, if that helps.

Personally I am happy with whichever cover I get, its the stories I buy it for not the special covers.They are only gonna be read once and then in a few years go back to certain progs for storylines etc.

I saw that auction for the other copy of cover 1 of 2, went for £37 in total in the end xD mad amounts of money just for a cover of the most recent issue 0.o
