The Amstor Computer

Mat - IIRC, the Dead Man storyline has been reprinted once in the early-mid 90s, and it crops up every couple of months on eBay.

I doubt it will see inclusion in the Necropolis reprint, but Jamie might be able to shed some light on that...

The Amstor Computer

City of the Damned was pretty lame - esp. in comparison to the Dredd epics that appeared before & after it (Apocalypse War & Oz, IIRC) - but it's fairly important in Dredd continuity, and it does have some fantastic setpieces.

I'd quite like to see it reprinted - far worse Dredd stories have made it into the current crop of Titan reprints (Ennis, I'm looking at you...)

I especially like the bit where Dredd is facing about a thousand Vampire Judges and he just warns them that  "Yes, they'll probably kill him but how many of them will die if they mess with him".  And they all back off. Not an action set piece but a great character moment and a great bit of writing.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Thanks Jamie - I just received the following e-mail:

Hi, John.

Unfortunately, locating complete original film or artwork is extremely difficult for much of the early 2000 AD material. However, we are aware that
some of the Strontium Dog pages that we were forced to scan in have not come up well, and we  are currently looking at resupplying enhanced versions of the scans when we go back to press in the near future. Please be assured that we do take the quality of our publications very seriously, and are always looking to maintain a high standard (end quote)

That's great, but what happens to those of us who have bought the first edition and are stuck with the bad printing? Can we get a discount on the 2nd printing if we also send the first edition back to Titan as proof of purchase?

I'll look into it, but no promises.

BTW, John, I handle the reader feedback as well ;)

I highly doubt it'll be reprinted with Necropolis, but I wouldn't rule out a reprint sometime next year.

If not for a book we already have, how about a 50% discount off a future book of the same RRP?

Oddboy

I reckon you should be able to send Titan your 'sketchy' copy & they'll send you the 'good stuff' in return.

How about that for fair's fair?

i dont work for titan

i just read the comic, grew up, getting back into the comic and now have more than 2.50 pocket money a week !

Have a compelling desire to read lots of titan and listen to big finish dredd cds all in the same day in a kinda 'judge dredd' day.

I know what I would like.
Actual runs of series, like the full reprint of all the Rogue Troopers, maybe in 2 volumes instead of 6 but brought out fairly close to each other. All the Robo-Hunter, ABC Warriors stories the same.
I love all the Dredd ones (Justice Day etc) but they are just a bit too bitty (here and there).
The same is certainly true of the Slaine books. Look how many there are!
There needs to be some definitive FULL reprints of storylines.

Look at the original Titan novels, they are really really thin, then look at the Slaine 'Warrior beyond time'. That size GN is possible so why not get more stuff out there?
(beyond the fact you get more money selling all the smaller ones individually)

Something like that.

Oh and I vote for a Judgement Day reprint. Actually a series just on the Mega-Epics (in softback not hardback) would be my choice.

It is a puzzle why Titan don't publish in chronological order (aside from the obvious jumping on the backs of well-known creators for maximum publicity, even though this benefit is soon ooast when readers see how bad Ennis's work on Dredd was and think twice about buying any more Dredd books :)

I'm very much for a proper, high quality, chronological collection of Rogue's adventures on Nu-Earth. Just reprinting the old 1980s' version, all out of alignment, is to me like publishing the 9 PREACHER TPBs starting with Vol. 4.

Unfortunately Trade Paperbacks are like 'best of' albums, they feature highlights designed to sell to a hopefully larger market.  Maybe it would be a smaller market, but for a lot of fans, complete runs are the way to go, only stopping to avoid major obstacles.  For rogue, I would end the reprints before the hit series, but would love to own a co mplete collection.  This isn't likely to happen, and we are to have lucky Nemesis book 2 in the planned nemesis reprints.

This always struck me as an odd idea. You always take a little risk buying a book from an unknown series, so why would you want to compound it by starting with a mish-mash of strips & no idea what's going on?

>the amazon review says its rubbish but i thought it was ace, you gotta get one, the art work is so knockout.  the panels are larger, the colour richer and the paper higher quality so i suppose thats why.

Dredd meeting all his old foes was done better by Wagner & Carlos in the 1983 Judge Dredd Annual:

Behold the Beast (Judge Dredd Annual 1983) 16 pages
Script: John Wagner, Artist: Carlos Ezquerra, Letters: Tom Frame

Wagner made his 16 pages more exciting than Ennis could manage with his 72.
