Was there every any more Incognito after volume 2? I liked that weird, dark and pulpy 'verse.

It's also like lots of people are standing around saying about how good those players are and how they're the only ones playing it right and getting very self righteous and offended when anyone points out the flaws.

And yet a very clever man (far cleverer than me) repeatedly told me the other night that the way it works is the Tories clean up Labour's financial messes. Labour spend it, the Tories save.

Despite being able to hear everything other one of my criticisms of the shambles of the Tory party and its actual record vs its hype (and the nature by which this hype is sustained), he wouldnt shift on that one. All evidence to the contrary, BoJo a shining, crystallized icon of the absolute utter waste of time and money they're capable of without any kind of positive return. Never mind overspending, it's literally setting fire to it so you stand in the faint light.

Go back where you came from.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that because a lot of people agree with me.

Disgusting.

Midsommar

I preferred Hereditary but this was something rather different, and I rather enjoyed it. Even if loads of people in the cinema with me got bored (2 people left, other people on their phones,  bad crowd all round)

You've listed off my favourite non Dabnett strips :( It's a shame I never really got on with Red Seas. Helium needs at least one more chapter to languish properly in limbo I feel, it barely even started.

The art makes sense. I'm loving Thistlebone but I would sadly trade for an end to Ampney.

Did Ampney Crucis finish up, or was it left dangling?

Couldn't get through this in one sitting without crying and wanting to murder a whole bunch of people simultaneously.

"I cannot square your endless circle" is a great line FS, I'm going to have to steal that one.

Zebra crossings in London are fine, as long as the drivers even notice they exist. Not an exclusive to London thing but if someone manages to get out from traffic in the smoke, it seems to go to their heads. Plenty of times I've seen vans/trucks just plow straight through traffic light crossings too, oblivious to the lights because it wasn't a junction where another car would hit 'em.

Mostly it's just shit drivers and where there's more people, there's more shit drivers.

It's 3 other vampires in Staten Island, obviously huge similarities but is generally a different story in the same broad setting rather than a reskin of any of the movie's characters or jokes. Even where it is, they build on it in an interesting/funny way (the Familiar for example).

Today, I've mostly been feeling sick and angry at children sleeping on concrete floors behind chain link fences with 24/7 lighting, separated from their parents and with 10 year olds forced to look after five year olds. Not being provided toothpaste, brushes, soap, beds. Children as young as four months and none older than 13. The guards getting angry and punishing them by taking away beds as punishment. Making 'prison bosses' by promising special treatment to older children if they keep the rest in line.

Or just sending a four year old on a plane to another country without telling anyone.

This is Evil. These are children.

Walk Through Hell continues to be intense and compelling. Sometimes you could forget Garth Ennis is the product of a Catholic upbringing but when he meditates on sin and eternal suffering, well...

Double bill last night of Destroyer and Overlord.

Both pretty violent though very different. Destroyer is a good watch, Nicole Kidman is good in the lead and the noir cred is pretty good throughout. Overlord was also fun, though objectively a lesser movie it never dragged and had some good performances and did its range of cliches pretty well. I would have enjoyed a more nightmarish descent into Eldritch forces in WW2 but I'm not complaining.

I only caught half an hour before I had to leave, but I was very very pleasantly surprised by the 10 year jump and how well everything was established in just a few minutes. Like I'd never left, but the characters had - and now they're back.
