I do have a little more hope following the extended trailer for DD. I like how the dialogue taking place between him and Fisk seems to be taking place without them being near one another. With luck (as far as I'm concerned) Daredevil won't be aware of Fisk's involvement in crime until the last scene in series one or something. I'd like them to build up to the whole reveal and then build up to actual confrontations between the two instead of rushing in for Daredevil finds out who he is and goes beats him up right away.

David Lynch has walked away stating Show Time won't put in the money he needs to have it the way he wants it to be, though Show Time's statement seems to be one of them hoping they can get him back. If they can't get Lynch back on I'd be shocked if Frost remains aboard seeing how he has spent years saying he should've backed Lynch a lot more during the last Twin Peaks run.

Film & TV / Re: A Blair Witch re-watch WITH SPOILERS

There's a film from around the same time called The Last Broadcast you might enjoy if you haven't seen it already. I remember hearing from a schoolfriend it was done first and so the similarities between the two are The Blair Witch crowd tipping their hats to them (and supposedly, the bloke behind TLB was asked why he didn't sue this other lot- only to say he had no interest in doing so).
Blair Witch wise, I remember it scaring me on the pictures and then being extremely disappointed by it when I saw it at home. Maybe I'll have a similar experience to your own if I watch it again though, it was all a long time ago. I'd rather watch Last Broadcast again/first tho because I've only seen it once.

Friends of mine have told me that, when they were kids, their school took them to see pantomime which Mr T was starring in. As the coach they were on was parking, Mr T apparently jumped onto the bus and- saying as only Mr T could while pointing down the aisle- said "Hey kids, don't do drugs!" before getting off the bus and rushing into the theatre. No idea how the teacher responsible didn't proudly tell the kids he/she had organized that and how. Just a few short years ago, I bumped into Henry Winkler at a popular discount store (he was doing Christmas panto at the time).

Quite a few over recent days...

Skyfall
I remember being excited by the idea of this, what with it being a "real" director doing Bond. As has already been done with him a couple of times too many, it went with a Bond rogue!/Bond washed-up and pretty rubbish! angle. I was genuinely taken aback at just how boring this was. It never seemed to end and everything about it just seemed to drag on and on.

Fright Night
The remake. Like remakes of films you saw young and probably still enjoy a little too much because of it, this didn't seem anywhere near as fun for me and I ended up falling into the trap of thinking "Well this is stupid because that didn't happen in the original..." throughout most of it.
Maybe it does have things going in its favour and I'm being a tad harsh but I didn't take to any of the characters, which doesn't bode well for any film. Colin Farrell seemed to be enjoying himself, however.

Looper
A I'll see it when I get around to it film of mine which I finally got around to and enjoyed enough to think I'd look into the director's previous work. Can't remember his name however so, you know, to Google once I'm done here.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
I put it on last night thinking it would simply be a bad film to waste a couple of hours but a lot of it took to being an enjoyable kind of bad. I think I laughed at pretty much every scene of violence for it either being way over the top and with a good line in it or, at times, seeming to actually be a little nasty and appearing out of place with the rest of the film because of it. There's a line right at the end I liked about a witch not going to be able to have an open casket. I pretty much cheered at that one because of been on a bit of a GTA binge recently and similar is constantly being said when I'm being a dick. Am I recommending this film to you? No. I don't want to run the risk of you feeling I've stolen around two hours of your life.

Exactly! Bloody hipsters! Beard and hair gel stealing (tho I never went for a somewhat Mark Kermode rockabilly inspired-look style like most of the "cool kids" are now going for, I did have gel to keep my otherwise bad hair in some kind of neat appearance despite a messy beard) annoyances. And as previously pointed out, it all seems very designer scruff. You're paying out the nose for jeans with rips in them! Buy jeans without rips in them, they could last twice as long! If you want a shirt that looks second hand, just buy a second hand shirt! Topman saw those lot coming when they were dressing the mannequins, that's for sure.
Not sure what new wave punk is. I am thankful however that whichever PR man came up with the term to try and convince people they can join a genuinely 'alternative' movement didn't spell it nu-wave punk or something. Although maybe it's because nu is something the old farts liked and noo wouldn't catch on.

X-Men Days of Future Past.  Well that wasn't very good.
I watched it recently and did quite like the beginning but my interest sort of trailed off here and there from then on. On plot points I'll feel funny using spoilers on cos I thought everyone had long seen it,
I thought it was odd Mystique being the point of interest Sentinel-wise instead of Rogue giving how her powers work
and I was more than a little confused at how
Magneto seemed to get the early Sentinels under his command by simply shoving railway tracks into them
but maybe there's a clear explanation for both I missed. By the end I may have been twiddling my thumbs but did find myself wondering
if they end up at a reality where Wolverine never got the ol' adamantium skeleton
but can't say I'm really excited to find out either way. Probably thinking too much into the film here too but Wolverine's whole
"Send me back because my mind can heal!"
did just seem a lazy explanation for why he was given the lead.

If by brand of humour you mean screaming like a dog that caught its dick on barbed wire all the time then no I dont get him at all. He may be lovely in person but in my house he's still a complete and utter bellend!
Don't know who he is but it sounds like the guy really grinds your gears

Sad to find myself disappointed. Seeing the suit in stills had me thinking the first series would be inspired by the Miller/Romita Jr Man Without Fear run (but then again it reminded a mate of Trial of the Incredible Hulk). That trailer just brought the 2004 film to mind a fair bit.

Or they could get Henry Ian Cusick to whiten his hair...
If anything comes up from this, I'm probably going to be one of a small minority who would rather get a couple of films released X amount of months apart here than another series. I think you've much more chance of it ending closer to the way Lynch/Frost would have ended it that way (not to mention Lynch's vow he wouldn't work on TV again) and in the age of Boxset binges and Netflix etc, it's not like anybody won't be able to play catch-up easily enough beforehand.

I saw this the other week and really enjoyed it, finding it really accessible with how it introduces the characters and overall story (I'd never read a GOTG comic in my life as far as I can recall). A lot more fun than the last 'superhero' film I got around to seeing on the big screen- which was Man of Steel.
Didn't sit through to the second credits scene as I no longer have the patience to do that but my mate in work told me how it's
Howard the Duck
, which has me wondering if anybody here has read
Howard's
original run? I ask because after reading Sean Howe's Marvel Comics I was left with the impression that it was actually pretty funny and satirical and I'm trying to decide whether I should buy the collection or not.

Today's free promo copy of The Sun grinds my gears. I actually think the Sun can be quite funny and even witty at its best but this is just awful.
It's all about how great it is to be British and has been posted to every house in the country. One quote "Obviously the best thing about being English is not being French or Belgian".

I'm quite happy to be British but I feel we should print out 20 million copies of this thread to post through people's doors in the interest of balance.
I'm happy to say I haven't received my free copy of The Sun with living in Liverpool. I understand why the postal workers decided against posting it and their decision has saved me the bother of having to run out the door after the postman to insist he take my copy back.

I have largely ignored Agents of Shield but Daredevil would be one I'd watch but I'm guessing I'd have to wait for it to be released on DVD with it being on Netflix. Is Charlie Fox the lead from TV's Dexter ? I only ask because I read he was the most likely candidate for the role but I can't remember his name this early in the morning.

Thanks Colin; wasn't being rude, just spent a surprising amount of time on that last post.
