Bart Diaz introduced me to the marvel that is Popbot a little while ago and since then I've kinda got hooked. I suppose it's not a comic book as such, more like an art gallery with a plot.
Woods is a past master at merging photoshop and traditional techniques to create some trying original artwork, and I'm constantly amazed at both his skill and his disjointed storytelling.
Some sublime artwork, a plot that makes sense only if you try not to think about it too hard and superb vignettes that really do knock my socks off when I read them. It's really a comic for art lovers, rather than a rip-roaring read but he manages to do some excellent about-turns of plot, with some very startling characters and ideas.
For those of you whose only contact with this genius has been his 2k work - pick up Popbot and have a comics experience like no other!! (it can be a bit pricey though)
Took along the latest issue for a raffle prize at Shedcon and the lucky winner was PJ, though he did at one point offer me it back which was slightly disconcerting ...
So there ...

Ash is great! And a real gent too. He should be sending me a popbot pic soon. I'll post it on arrival!
Rufus
I love you, Rufus.
Know if any of his artwork is available for (relatively cheap) sale or if he'd be up for doing an interview sometime?

Bump
Look at that - LMS came out of a thread side street without warning! Now I have whiplash and will be consulting my solicitor.
Worth a bump, though :-)
Could quite happily enthuse about the work of Ashley Wood for, well all night, if enough pints were set infront of me..
However, it's a school night and I've got to be fresh fer tomorrow so I'll leave you with a link to some of the finest illustration work I've found on the net by another big fave of mine (*and* Mr. Wood's I'd wager) the prolific Robert E McGinnis.
Enjoy.
