When I was up at BIC's last year I saw Kev sat at his table with one of those banners behind him showcasing his work. Dredd was on that banner, so like a moth to a flame I was drawn to him.

On that very table was a commission he had done for someone of Dredd, it was fully painted and looked fab. I enquired about something similar for my goodself. I said I would be in touch after Christmas and true to my word I did and now the ball is well and truly rolling.
Now that the painting is coming along I asked Kev (he was at KAPOW) if I could start a thread to show how it's coming along, he said yes :D
The brief was simple, Carolyn as a Judge. He asked if he could do his own take on the Lawgiver and I was up for that :thumbsup:

Kev has been quite busy of late doing work things but he has just sent me the latest picture of his progress on my commission and I'm very excited now :D
He said that he'll be working on the face next week and all the details to finesse.

It's nearly finished, just a wee bit more arty things to do and it'll be on the wall (once it's been framed). Might have to have a discussion with the framer on how to do this, once I see it in the flesh, will it need glass!!!

Amazing painting. Give it the old glass overcoat. You'll want to protect the work as it is an original piece and valuable to Future Art collectors/nerds/2000 A.D obsessed Artilects.

Yes Zarjazzer, it is, it's his signature idea and I was and am happy with it having seen it on his painted Dredd at BIC's.
Cheers for the hint IAMTHESYSTEM, I always thought that a painting was left uncovered, due to lumps and bumps in the paint. Then again once you have a mount around the actual picture that raises the glass off the actual paint itself.
