New Vertigo series by Rob starting in November:
QuoteUNFOLLOW #1
Written by Rob Williams, art by Michael Dowling, cover by Matt Taylor.
A dying social media mogul leaves his billions to be split evenly between 140 random people--or however many of them are still alive at the moment of his death. Williams and Dowling assemble a cast that includes a young black man trying to get by in St. Louis, an Iranian reporter in need of hope, a retired special forces soldier with a strange sense of purpose, and a thrill-seeking heiress, in this thriller that shows we're all still part of the food chain.

Yeah I'm giving that a pop. Rob Williams and an interesting sounding concept. Gotta be worth a pop right. Just hope it finds an audience, last two Vertigo books I've picked up have limited through to curtailed endings, shame as they've both been very good (Hinterkind and FBP).
I just read it and it's truly touched by genius. Such a smart idea and beautifully executed. Rob just gets better and better and Mike is at the top of his game. Do not miss!
Out next week; http://www.midtowncomics.com/store/dp.asp?PRID=UNFOLLOW+%231+(MR)_1481826
I'm giving it a pop too, sounds quite intriguing.
Will definitely pick it up!
Me too. Sounds highly intriguing.
Except it's social media. Vomit. It's a testament to Mr Williams' writing that I'd still give this a go...
Will be picking up the Martian Manhunter trade (whenever that appears). Can't seem to find the early issues. Looks wacky and entertaining and frankly, the boy can write.
Picked this up today at the local FP and read it on the way home on the bus
Excellent stuff, really enjoyed it. Love the simple yet captivating idea of it get the impression that it's going to really get serious and crank up the tension in future issues
Looking forward to reading more from this series and seeing were it ends up
Got this at Thought Bubble today. A really gripping opening for a series that I will most certainly be following (weak pun intended).
Yeah as I've said elsewhere, got it, loved it.
Read the second issue the other day. Really liked it. Especially the world building.
Hope it keeps some if it's mysteries intact, similar to 100Bullets. I don't know if I want a character like Rubinstein unmasked ;)

Also cool hear that it's getting picked up for television.
I picked up the 2nd issue last night myself, very sold stuff.
Mike Dowling is producing some beautiful artwork on this.
Yeah I've got and read this and while I'm sure I'll say more over at the 'Mega comicbook day' thread suffice to say its a damned good read. BUT what I really want to ask is whether its just me or are Mike Dowling's inks starting to get more and more like Arthur Ranson's?
Yeah, i've read #2 also and it's another thumbs up from me. Cracki comics with a real sense of mystery to it with some cracking art to accompany it.
I dropped this after the first issue, not because I disliked it but because I'm tight-fisted and wanted to wait for it to be collected. Well now it has been, and a cracking collection it is too. Highly recommended.

Seriously any fans of Rob's writing should be reading this its quite brilliant and seems to struggle for numbers which is an absolute crying shame.
Don't normally venture down to this part of the forum, perhaps I should...this looks great, just bought the collected GN of issues 1-6. Love Dowling's art and I wondered where he'd got to.

You really should winder down here more often. I sometimes think that for a comics forum this bit seems the most on point... I know that's not a popular view and people seem to use the forum to witter about anything but, but ya know I have wacky views like that.

These are wise words and good words.
But yes, I see people are still not reading Unfollow. Shame!
When the finances allow, I'll be purchasing it via Comixology.
Sounds fantastic.
Sounds fantastic, and delivers. Bonkers but believability due to some great writing.
Should translate well to telly too.

Pop down more often Geoff!
I hope the first collection proves popular, it's a great comic.
I picked it up at Lawgiver this weekend - really, really good.

Don't suppose you asked Rob how its doing? I worry for it post Shelly Bond (well even before she left, but even more so now)
I didn't I'm afraid - It had just been on my radar, I'd heard good things and I like Rob and Mike Dowling's work.
A lot of what goes on in the comic world outside 2000AD tends to pass me by.
Anyone know if this has been cancelled?
Didn't see it listed in Decembers solicitations.

I bloody hope not!
Maybe it's having one of those hiatuses, like Saga has from time to time.
Fret not (I'm glad to say)
QuoteUNFOLLOW #14
Written by ROB WILLIAMS
Art by JAVIER PULIDO
Cover by MATT TAYLOR
The Akira App has launched and the battle for control of social media has truly begun. Its two generals both fight from beyond the grave. But who was Larry Ferrell? How did he become a billionaire at such a young age? Why did he start the "140 List"? And how, exactly, did he return from the dead? The truth of the Unfollow experiment is revealed.
On sale DECEMBER 7 • 32 pg, FC, $3.99 US • MATURE READERS
For some reason I have it in my head that this was been optioned for telly (or some such) and so even though sells seem low that might keep it around longer than might otherwise be expected, though not too long. Can't 100% remember why I think this?

Cool! :)
Thank you Mr. YNWA, didn't catch that.
One of the few books remaining on my now minuscule pull list.
