Title: The Misfits, Black Flag, The Ramones
Post by: Mudcrab on 08 April, 2003, 06:36:45 PM
Must be a few fans of them here. Or any Metallica fan will have heard at least 2 of their songs (Last Caress/Green Hell).

Anyway, there's a tour coming up next month with Jerry Only of The Misfits, Dez from Black Flag and Marky Ramone. Doing Misfits number past and present, plus a few Black Flag and Ramones classics.

The Misfits

Check Tour Dates for the UK leg of the M25 tour. Nothing to do with the motorway :o)

Overjoyed at them coming to Aberdeen!!!

Anyone else got the Ramones tribute album?
Some great stuff on there including: Marylin Manson doing "The KKK Took My Baby Away", Rob Zombie doing "Blitzkreig Bop" & U2 doing "Beat on the Brat"

I see Rollins has been reduced to fronting some shite Robot-Wars with cars rubbish on the telly. How the mighty have fallen...

And all those who like Black Flag?!?!

The fantastic Henry Rollins (IIRC was in Black Flag) is now presenting the mad channel 4 series "Full Metal Challenge"

He was indeed. Never managed to hear that much Black Flag, in fact I've seen more live covers than I've heard songs. Always meant to get some but kept forgetting I suppose. Last one I heard was the Dead Kennedys.

"I see Rollins has been reduced to fronting some shite Robot-Wars with cars rubbish on the telly. How the mighty have fallen..."

What, from the dizzy heights of Johnny Mnemonic and The Chase?

He did have a marvellous 'dumb cop' part in Lost Highway!!

Plus he's in the new Jackass film, if you can stand to watch it!:O)

He gets particularly vigorously slapped around by Al Pacino in Heat as well.

Doesn't do much for suspending disbelief in the film though, when you're sitting there with a little voice in your head going, "yeah, but in real life Rollins could squash Pacino like a bug just by flexing his butt cheeks".

I once saw a TV special of one of Rollins' "stand-up" shows, where he shouts a lot.

I noticed he has a tendency to develop foamy white spittle at the corners of his mouth, so he is officially no longer cool.

I think Rollins does voices for the Batman Beyond cartoon, too.

Rollins was also in Johnny Mnemnem Mnenm Mnenon Menminimninomic alongside Canoe Reeves playing a big soft git who got tortured and killed by the baddies. Guess how convincing that performance was.

Oh no. Please don't torture and kill me yeah, 'cos like, I'm so scared of you.

Jesus, he was in Jack Frost as well...

Well in that case the current telly thing is practically a career high.

Should'nt that read, "Johnny Moronic"?
Saw The Rollins Band, at reading, in 94-He's one hell of a front-man, and insults an audience like no-one on earth-except for maybe Mike Patton!

LOL. Yep, I remember that. Kind of went like "Building up your body by doing loads of weights and being able to kill someone with a stare is better than doing drugs kids!"

He also soaks his shorts in a bucket of ice water an donly puts them on seconds before going onstage, which probably explains a lot about the intense look...

Rollins rocks!

His spoken word stuff is great too.

Don't bother with his novel though, its utter shite.

He keeps his dead mate's brain in a jar, doesn't he?
