Yeah or Nay?
For me it's certainly the stand out strip in the weekly. As far as I know there's not been a strip about the Wally Squad before, so it's nice to see how they're not your "typical" judge. As for Mr Flint's artwork, well, who can argue?
I for one say more Judge Nixon!
DC
I'll give a 'yeah' to this one. I enjoyed the story, and have a feeling that it'll work even better when read in one go. There are a few nice strong characters, moral ambiguity and lovely, atmospheric, dirty comic-book art from Flint.
what? even more of her? I liked her as she was last issue but now there is just to much of her.
A hearty "Yeah" from me. I'd like to see the strip take a break for a month or two after this new story concludes. It's had the time to establish itself, and I think it'd only be weakened by constant exposure in the weekly. I want to see a new Dante or Caballistics Inc., not a new Sinister Dexter...
I'll say yes at the moment,but...

The ending sort of confused me.Right,so Aimee doesn't want the Low Life changed because it's where people like her belong. So does that mean she doesn't really want it cleaned up?A psycho?Does she mean it's a good dumping ground for morally dubious Wally Squad?Does this fit with a Judge outlook? And someone so good on the birdie-would they just let it slide?
For the record,I think what I've just said is why it was a good story-plenty to lead on to with a complex, ambiguous character. But again, will she still be doing the 'right' thing as far as justice dept go?
And,yep,Flinty artwork makes my wallet grumble!
M.
you realise my post was a joke on thw latest plot
A big Hell Yeahhhhhh from T.P.S for this strip..I'm a sucker for the seedier side of life...provide your own pun..
I thought it was okay as a one-off, but I can't see it sustaining momentum or interest for too long unless Williams is planning to use different characters as the focus for the stories. Nixon's story is told already, and I didn't really take to Frank Millar's Sin City, which this strip seems to remind me of.
I agree with the hive-mind about Flint's artwork, though.
More of that, please!
the girlie hive says yes.
There was Pandora - wasn't that about the Wally Squad?
Good to see from this week's episode it's not going to be all doom and gloom in the Low Life. The scenario's been well set up, and I thought the gear change to a more comic tale worked well, without sacrificing the seedy undertones.
Haven`t read the latest low life, but yes to more low life and to more Wally Squad stories in general.
Hey Dudley you're right Pandora in the Meg was about Wally Squad but only if you strip away the psycadelic top layer and could follow the art.
Only just read the first episode of Low Life but i'm liking the gist so far and like everyone else I think the Flint droids work here is awsome.

out on a limb here...
first i agree with boy not a long runner unless this strip can be versitile and different it should be a one shot series and now for the comment that will make me soooo unpopular
i have started to realy not like flints art when he started on R trooper his colour stuff was stunning whatsit panzer tho a luke warm stroy was made by his are (god he was good) and so on untill
...nemisis the should of finished 10 years before didnt like it (the whole thing not one thing was any good) for me his are used to be sooo great so much detail a kind of 3 d feel now its slap dash and 2 d flat even
sorry :O'
does that mean im in trouble with the hive mind?
Tweak are you drinking or partaking of any stimulants at the moment?
Low Life was great, personally i found Henry Flint's artwork a little TOO messy, but it still looked superb!
My only gripe is that the supporting cast of wally judges got killed off. I'd have liked to have seen more of them, especially Dirty Frank!
Looking forward to the new series.
Big yeah - and i like the way it's called low life, cos that means Nixon can die and someone else take up the mantel...
er.. coffee why?
Sorry, Tweak no offence meant, just the chaotic nature of your initial post just got me wondering.
Rob Williams we know you're reading this -
WILL DIRTY FRANK BE BACK?
Dudley
(Coca-Cola and coffee mix, with sugar chaser)
Dirty Frank pleads for the return of his namesake...
oh right no just me being erm me sorry i kinda ramble :OS
I enjoyed Low Life but found the initial story unoriginal - Cop set up to take the fall by senior officer - though it served as an introduction.
It would be great to see Henry Flint's work in colour on the strip so you can get more of a contrast between the cleaner, brighter upper tiers of the city and Low Life. And maybe add some more background Wally squad characters.
That said hope it carries on.
I'll end with a unrelated yet heartfelt: BRING BACK DANTE!
"I enjoyed Low Life but found the initial story unoriginal - Cop set up to take the fall by senior office"
But the twist, with Nixon offing the senior officer to keep the Low Life as it was took the pretty standard cop thriller plot and subverted it nicely.
Can't agree on the suggestion that Low Life should be in colour - a lot of the atmosphere of the strip comes from the grimy, monochrome artwork & I feel that a move to full-colour would only hurt this. To tie in with your Dante request, imagine Dante in moody B&W. It's just not the right approach for the tone of the strip - Dante is a glorious technicolour adventure, and B&W art just wouldn't fit.
Anyway - yes to more Wally Squad characters, and a big fecking YES to more Dante :-)
'WILL DIRTY FRANK BE BACK?'
He didn't die in the first series, so...
was going to kill him off originally, but I liked the character too much.
Rob
The girly hive does indeed say yes.
In a lot of ways, Low Life reminds me scarily of my teenage years!
I love Aimee! More please!
What? having a robotic arm? Being an undercover cop? Getting really fat really quickly?
More Alan Mo-Dirty Frank! Great.
More Aimee, More Frank, More Flint art, More Williams gritty weirdness........
Slips
Personally, I loved it. Yes it was sometimes a little familiar but had just enough of a twist to give it it's own identity.
I'd like very much to see more, tho as has been stated, one story every now and then would be fine. That way the series won't grow stale too quickly. Boy mentioned Sin City and I think this series would be an ideal template for Low Life. You can tell more stories of Nixon or other Wally Squad members, or even go out on a limb and tell stories about other denizens of this part of the Big Meg!
Having actually read the new story - yes, definitely more.
Mind you, if Aimee has to have a drastic surgical procedure before each series, the credibility will go down fast.
