Title: Rebellion's website
Post by: ukdane on 29 July, 2004, 02:50:24 AM
According to the banner advert at the top of the homepage, the Rebellion website url is www.rebellion.co.uk
I've just tried it, and it doesn't exist. Anyone else suffering similar problems? Anyone know the correct URL if it has moved?
Cheers

(I wanted to see if they had a news section on their site, to see if there was any news about the RT computer game that is in development.)

Yep. Seems to be down.

I really hope they're overhauling it. The old site was ugly as sin...

you have got to be concerned when a
computer based company has a butt ugly website ,that is now down.

lucky for us they are finacailly involved and not creatively with 2000ad.
have they had much success game wise? or just one or two huge hits.

They had a hit with the first AvP game and deservedly so 'cos it was a quality product, but after that I think it's all been average.

I read somewhere, CI I think, that one of their upcoming releases is getting a strip in 2000ad to promote it.

Did anyone else see this and can confirm?

Uh, oh I hope not, that's computer warrior all over again!

Problem with Rebellion is they cannot get out of FPS mode, and all the whole industry seems t be doing is just creating bigger and faster engines for FPS.

Wonder what the new Rogue Trooper Game will be like?

Was the recent World War Zero game by Rebellion? It got some pretty duff reviews - another average FPS.

DD - I agree, I've always been worried about their lack of a decent website - particularly as it's often the first port of call by PC gamers looking for downloads and patches.

Hardly surprising when you consider the acclaim that AvP received. Thing is, when they bought 2000 AD, I was hoping they'd look at the unique IP and act accordingly. For instance, there's certainly not a sky surfing game out there, and although such a game might be somewhat reminiscent of others on the market, there'd still be plenty of things to mark it as unique.

"Chopper", the game? I always thought skysurfing would make a neat racing-type game. It'd be quite distant from the hardcore racers like Gran Turismo, and also markedly different from other "future sport" titles like F-Zero and Wipeout, with a feel closer to the extreme sports games, but quite different from the tired snowboard/skateboard franchises. Lots of potential for crowd-pleasing ultraviolence, as well :-)

I've seen some videoclips of "Sniper Elite", which hasn?t come out yet, which looks fantastic. It's third person shifting to first person when using telescopic sights, which would probably be what would suit Rogue best so I'm wondering if there'll be some shared code there.

Seen both and from what I've seen they look and play completely differently.
