Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been down here recently but its been a mad week. Not only did I come out to my parents on Tuesday (and so making me not the most popular person with them right now) there's been big goings on at 411mania that have taken all my "internet time" up.
You see the two owners of the site have had creative differences and so one of them and many if not most of the star writers are leaving to form a new site at www.insidepulse.com as of monday.
Now the comics staff is moving en masse with them BUT obviously we can't be called insidepulse/comics because it would clash with the pulse. So we're going to be called The Nexus and be at www.comicsnexus.com. Everything you loved, dislike and ignored about the old site is still there even our archives are being moved.
And on the Brit-comic front we've got some good stuff coming your way including interviews with Pat Mills, Garth Ennis, Carlos Ezquerra, John Wagner, Dan Abnett, Alan Barnes, Si Frasier and JamieB, the Top 10 Transatlantic crossover column I talked about and also reviews of non-2000AD Brit titles starting with Warhammer next week.
As for this week, well we've got a review of 2000AD 1400 by Chris and myself which is excellent, a review of Judge Dredd Megazine 222 which is slightly less excellent and (to my surprise because I thought we were holding everything back until the launch of the new site) interviews with Henry Flint (btw, I forgot include a thank you to Jamie for helping us secure that interview, sorry) and Gordon Rennie. They'll get their dedicated threads when I post their new URLS for wake on Monday (seems silly doing it now when their going to change).
P.S. If Gordon's reading, would've have sent advance warning but my yahoo account hates me and won't late me send any emails.

Will, PLEASE use your damn spellchecker! The man's name is NOT "Gordan"!
J-Bo-1
...and it's Simon FRASER ;-)
(I think Trout may have offered before, but I would be delighted to do proof-reading for you. I've done a little before, and I've got enough spare time to do it...)

That one isn't my fault (thankfully) but my editor in chief's (I don't post/give them titles) who to be fair to him as got a ton of stuff going on at the moment so pressing the wrong letter is understandable. I'll bug him to get it changed asap.
The second one is my fault, sorry about that but I was rushing a bit because I'd lost the first copy of this so had to write it again, plus I've got a tone of emails to send out and my bloody account won't work (grrr). Thanks for the offer Dirty Frank (and trout) reviews are difficult but I might send columns/interviews out if anyone's interested.

Just read the Flint interview - he's got some really good answers, very entertaining read.
SHAKARA 2! YAY!
Shakara 2? FUCKING DANCER! If he's working on the Terror follow-up now, and that's due in a few months, does that mean we could perhaps be looking forward to more Shakara in Prog 2005?
Glad you liked it oddboy, must say I was most overjoyed when he announced Shakara 2. Just re-read it and its unbelieveably ace with Flint's best artwork IMHO.

Excellent work as usual. Best of luck with the family, Will.

I've just heard perhaps the greatest news ever about the new site...
THERE WILL BE NO POP UPS!!!
Huzzah, all is good with the world!!!!!!!!!!!
congrats on coming out to your parents, how did they take it (i guess not very well from what you have said)
did you give a talk at the briatol comic con?
Hey Will,
I know a bit about this 'coming out to parents' lark.
As long as they haven't gone down the route of disowning you, and telling you never to darken their door again, then all it takes is a bit of time. They'll be ok.
I think initially my mum couldn't speak to me for 6 months or so without crying - now she loves the other half (in fact I'm sure she gets a bit flirty with him - well they're both from Glasgow).
Anyway, best wishes, hope all goes well.
Will, first off, well done for coming out. I have a friend who's been living with his boyfriend for a good 5 years now, but still hasn't been able to bring himself to come out to his parents, which makes things somewhat awkward, to say the least. It may be difficult right now, but in the long term it'll make life much easier, I reckon.
Second, great interviews there, your columns have progressed by leaps and bounds since you started doing them, and I look forward to reading them without the annoyance of a million pop-ups.
Third, I'm happy to help out if you need proofreading to sort out your atrocious grammar and spelling ;)
I dont often offer support (im a miserable bugger) but I really enjoy your suff Will (?). While Im at it, 2000adreview is pretty grand stuff too.
Back to miserable bugger mode...
Rachel Stevens! Gah!
Hi all sorry this is so late being running around getting my archives sorted out.
Firstly thanks to everyone who offered me support about coming out to my parents. Very sweet of you, they haven't taken it to well but I'm still living, still have a home, job and internet so I'll survive. Glad things are going well for you Gav.
Also Cybermax, I didn't give a talk at Bristol Con but two of my collegues Manolis and Dave did-they presented one of the awards. I was meant to go but decided to go to my local gay pride instead.
Glad everyone's enjoying the columns. I've got some ideas on how to expand our coverage and hopefully add a couple of extra 2000AD/Brit comic writers. I'll keep you noted if I get the get go (I should do the ideas have been getting a good response).
Thanks to everyone whose offered to proof read for me, I'm going try and get a bit more organised with my work so I can take advantage.

Everyone's said about the tons of pop-ups at the old site, but I only ever got one-per-visit when I went there - hardly very distracting.
Still, no pop ups at all *is* better, so HURRAH! t the Nexus site.
