Title: Please Read. VERY IMPORTANT!
Post by: Will I. Cooling on 26 August, 2004, 06:57:24 AM

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't been around a lot recently but I've been very busy putting the finishing touches to the latest addition to The Nexus 2000AD/British comic coverage...namely our new weekly British comics column Across The Pond. This column will offer a variety of views and perspectives of British comics and 2000AD in particular as offered by two of the most celebrated Squaxx de Tharg and myself.

It will be debuting this Friday/Saturday with my contribution to the column-a monthly British Comic
news and previews column. It will contain previews for upcoming 2000AD group block busters Asylum 2, the next Simping Detective story and Judge Dredd: Total War. In addition it will contain a selection of news and previews from some of the finest British indie titles on the market today including the out this week Brodie's Law whose (excellent) art is providing by controvesial artist David Bircham and dialogue by Alan Grant.

In addition to all that will be debuting my guide to British comics on the internet starting with message boards and revealing the rest of the Across The Pond line-up; namely our bi-weekly columnist extraordinaire and the writer of our monthly 2000AD Q&A*.

Believe me this is a jam packed column that you do not want to miss.

Will Cooling

The Nexus Reviewer and Interviewer
Across The Pond Editor

*We're still looking for someone with knowledge of non 2000AD British comics to co-write the Q&A. If you're interested then please email me at W_Cooling@yahoo.co.uk.

Sounds good. I enjoyed the old site, so I look forward to the new one. I might drop you a line about the British comics thing - obviously, exciting things are afoot, what with the DC deal with IPC, and Titan republishing Dan Dare, Charley's War and Modesty Blaise, as well as the James Bond newspaper strip. I just hope they get around to reprinting Garth, the newspaper strip drawn by Frank Bellamy...

Not really "VERY IMPORTANT!" is it? I mean I personally couldn't give a monkey's toss.

Yeah, I'll go halfway with banners on this one.  I mean, it is nice to know and all, and I'll definitely take a look, but VERY IMPORTANT it is not.  Makes you sound like a spammer (which you're blatantly not).

Ugh...nice to know spending literally hours getting a column together for FREE is appreciated. I find it weird though that a 2000AD fan doesn't care at the very least about seeing early pages from Simping Detective, Asylum 2 and Total War.

Now that's a fair comment. I agree, I was rushing round trying to advertise the new column and kinda hit hyperbole button. Sorry for that.

Point taken. And also point proven that posting when...

a) in very bad mood

-and-

b) when just back from the pub

...is a bad combination(!) I apologise for typing with claws - best of luck for the column.

Time differences mean it'll be between today and saturday-I've never done a column before so I'm unsure about when my editor puts them up...in the meantime feel free to check out my Ex Machina 3 review ( :) )which I humblely believe to be ace...for those who don't know about Ex Machina its about a Superhero becoming Mayor of New York. My review is done as an oppenent of the mayor making a speech.

And thanks for the kind words mbanners, I knew you weren't all bad!
