I've just uploaded a new fan thrill. Simon Penter is looking for comments, so if you could post them here, that would be great.

Nice. Liked the art and it was funny-good too...
That was fabby! Brilliant story, nicey art, all round groovy.
Lovely. That art is great.
Lovely. That art is great.
"That Art is great."
Ego, much?
Heh, heh.
I guessed the end, but it was still good fun.
McMahon-esque art, perhaps via Brendan McCarthy, and all of a high standard.
I like!

Can I add my thumbs up too?
Just to make my day here not entirely pointless...
Dan
Can't add much more. Great fun, loved the ending!
Loved the art. When was the last time we had a B&W Dredd in the weekly?
Lovely pictures, some Flinty goodness on the lady judge.
Story flowed well, though it could have done with losing a page.
What size was this intended to be printed at?

Gav - My name is Dredd was the last time Dredd appeared in B&W in the weekly.
I agree. The pacing is the only real problem with it. There just isn't six pages of story there. Four would have been better, and would have ensured we didn't guess the ending ahead of time.
The anatomy and the perspective are very nice. The manta looked wonderful and I liked the alien designs. Given a tighter script, I think there's art droid potential here.

This comment was posted by Simon Penter.....I'm just set up as 'Si Logan' for reasons far too stupid (and not very interesting) to list!
Thanks for the really positive initial comments on 'Sphere' - not what I was expecting at all - maybe I should stop being so paranoid ( I bet thats what they all say about me ...etc).
It's obviously apparent to some of you (in fact all of you after you have read this note) that I'm not a writer - I've been a 2000ad fan since the age of ten when I read the Apocalypse War and spent my childhood (and most of the years since)drawing Judge Dredd (et al).
The story on this strip was structured to allow me to put a variety of elements into the artwork....and to throw in a joke at the end (bad one or not)!
Once again - thanks a lot for the feedback, it's much appreciated.
Simon.
Any more pics to post Si?
I'd say it's very good, yes maybe one less page might have been better but I'd have to see it in the prog to give a true comment on that, flow us different online.
Only one thing graphically and thats from the front Dredd's chain is too wide, but apart from that its very good indeed.
Just seen the last page of this over on the BBC comics competition page.
Good luck.

The Hive Mind Guessed The Joke But Really Loved The Art.
Not You, Art.
lovly alien
Weird names for some of the judges! But yeah nice artwork definately.
WOW! A double dose of Dredd in one week, great stuff.
Ed
Thanks for the good luck with the BBC competition!
It fortuitously coincided with me finishing off page 6 so I thought why not!
The chain may be a bit chunky on Page 2....fair enough. That was the first page drawn - so it may have improved by Page 5 & 6. Still, I always loved the really chunky-drawn Dredd, huge pads, boots etc, so its ok by me.
As for more artwork, I have been really encouraged by all your comments and have put my brain to coming up with my next submission.....just need a story to get going (always the difficult part), I may try for a 4-pager.
Thanks again.
I've just tweaked the thrillviewer so that fan thrills can be voted on while reading them, as well as from the index.

I loved this! Well done mate.
MORE!!!
It may not be the best script in the world, but with a bit of editorial tweaking dialogue-wise, I'd have been quite happy if that had have been in 2000 AD.
Great stuff! One of the best fan strips I've seen!Feel sorry for the little alien though :(
Very nice! I do agree that it could do with condensing, but on the whole it was aces. Good luck with the BEEB thing :)
Si - do you have a brother named Paul?
that was excellent.
good art work.very crisp.and without trying to add anything out of place to a very clearly mega city 1 backdrop.
i laughed at the punch line.
perfect DREDD being DREDD, line to ice the cake.
that was very worthy of our attention. thanks wake.
Mr, Penter, very good.
Very nice.
Solid artwork and I liked the story.
Post more soon.
